Was never fascinated with him when many around here were when Lance Stephenson was in Indiana particularly as seen as a replacement for Avery Bradley.

But, a recent thread has made me think of bringing him as a possibility.

Anyone around here thinks this might be a good idea? If you do, what would you tread for him? If not, then why?

Personally I'd gladly give him all the Young/Hunter minutes. Could he be a Turner replacement or someone to play with him? I'm not sure, but some questions worth asking.

I think he's improved his play as of late from where it was earlier in the season and last season. He got an DNP last night, and seems to be in the trade market as it is.

He should improve our perimeter defense (able to guard the LeBron types as well), provide another ball handler/shot creator, and improve our perimeter shooting.

He has a team option next year, so something worth taking into account.

So is he someone worth considering?

Here are some random options to see if any of them piques your interest or not:

Jerebko + Young for Stephenson... who says no?

Jerebko + Zeller for Stephenson... who says no?

Turner + Young for Stephenson + Smith/Mbah a Moute... who says no?

Turner + Zeller for Stephenson + Smith/Mbah a Moute... who says no?

Anyways, there you have it. Rip these ideas to shreds.

Absolutely not. The main reason our chemistry is making our team so much better than it should be is there are no bad apples.  Stephenson is on the whiniest, most diva-forgiving team of all time and even his antics don't work there.  I'm not denying the talent, but I really don't want him on our team.

What if we sign him, then draft Dunn or Murray with the Nets pick?  That is a super plausible scenario and I wouldn't want him getting in the way.

No thanks.

Picture a more expensive + more volatile version of Evan Turner (both emotionally and in terms of good/bad play) who will also try to punch Evan Turner in the face at some point.

On this team right now as its currently constructed? No.

As a Turner replacement if ET leaves this summer? Absolutely. Stephenson would be cheaper and I think he could do exactly what Turner does only better. Of course the difference is Stephenson is a risk. He's like Josh Smith. An unconventional but exciting talent that needs to be put in the right system in order to thrive. However, if he doesn't fit, not only is he terrible but he becomes a diva. As long as he's on a cheap deal, I would take him for all the talent he definitely has.

Stephenson needs to be put with a coach who knows how to use him which oddly was the case with Evan Turner when the Celtics originally picked him up. Two years later the tables have turned with Turner looking like he's found a role to play in the league while Stephenson has lost his. If you have the chance to do a reclamation project on a young player who was a borderline all-star talent two years ago, I say go for it

Really don't understand your position in all honesty. If that's your position, I don't see why you wouldn't want to trade for him now.

Because we already have Turner doing what Stephenson would do on this team and it's working. My main point is, I'd rather have Stephenson for cheap this summer than add him mid-season while he's being paid $9 million and possibly disrupt chemistry.
