Embiid for Bradley. Who says no? Bradley is young and pretty good, and fits perfectly with the new run Sixers. Now celtics fans might think it's not worth the risk, but really, how good can Bradley be? And I doubt he will be as effective outside the celtics organization. Not to mention we're deep at guard anyway. I actually think this is a very fair trade for both teams. We're taking a risk, hoping Embiid reaches his star potential while philly gets a starter and is trading away a deep position.

I'd still gamble on Embiid.

I'd still gamble on Embiid.

I probably went to 15 games his season at KU and left every single one of them wondering if he actually knew how to play basketball.  It was basically a taller version of Thomas Robinson.  Athleticism only gets you to a certain point.  Can't ever imagine this guy being a legitimate starter.

Sixes aren't ready for that kind of trade. They need to see what they have. Now if C's get the 1st overall and sixers 2 then Noel and Ingram for Simmons and Dallas 1st is a trade to make happen.

If the Sixers agree to that trade, it's because they know something about Embiid that we don't. Either something like his foot will never totally heal or that he's addicted to jelly donuts ("Mmm, we don't have these in Cameroon").

Embiid did remind me a bit of Kwame in the pre-draft.

Embiid was amazing in the drills like Kwame was. Looked like a stud.

But Embiid was unable to know when to use those skills consistently in games. You could see glimpses of the talent he had but he couldn't consistently dominate. He should have owned the NCAA. Almost every decent big man goes pro after freshman year. Very little big man quality in the college game anymore. A big man with Embiid's athleticism and skill level should have owned the NCAA. But like Kwame, Embiid lacked understanding of how to play 5-on-5. Great in drills and one-on-one.

On the plus side, Embiid only learned basketball recently ... unlike Kwame, so hopefully that will (well, would have been if not for injuries) a separating factor.

But there were definitely some things there that reminded me of Kwame in Embiid.

I think Philly says no. I think they would need someone with more upside than Avery Bradley. I think someone like Oladipo could be a great match for Philly.

I don't know what Ainge would do. Ainge is a risk-taker and I believe he said (if my memory is correct) that he would have taken Embiid if Embiid was available at Boston's pick. So maybe Ainge stills rolls the dice here with A.Bradley for J.Embiid.

Only if someone can assure me that he can stay healthy, which actually means no.

This is why Embiid is basically untradable. It would be like getting offered a $500 stock for $100: you have to assume that the guy offering has some insider information.

why on earth would we give up the clearly-number-one prospect in this draft for a D-only player and a player that's on a lesser level?

if we get #1, take Simmons and run.  only players I'd consider trading him for are Lebron, Durant, Curry and Anthony Davis.  asking a lot but it would take a lot to move that pick.  Noel and Ingram aren't it.

How many people who believe in Embiid have actually seen him play 5+ games? Slightly unfair point to make considering his place in the NBA thus far, but unfortunately it's hardly a gamble in 2016 to take on Embiid. It's a fool's errand.
Long-form is far from dead, but please refrain from paragraph-laden posts! Who wants to read that?!

I really like Ingram and worry if Simmons can play the same way in NBA as in college. A play making PF without the elite athletic ability of a Stat or Griffin isn't easy? I know he is still growing and he has put up #s but Ingram and Noel is good for me. Noel solves Center issues and Ingram has same star potential.

I watched a dozen or so of his games with Kansas.  If he passed the Celtics very thorough medical evaluation, I'd give up the Nets pick (top 2 protected) for Embiid.  Simmons and Ingram are the only players in this draft that I wouldn't give up for a healthy Embiid.
