For a guy with a reputation as being a shooter, RJ Hunter sure can't shoot it at the NBA level yet.  He seems to always have open looks yet he's shooting only 35.7% overall and just 26.1% from downtown.

I hope he gets it together soon, because the C's could really use his shooting.

He's thinking about it and aiming instead of shooting.  What I like is we know he's a shooter but nearly every other aspect of his game looks GOOD

I wouldn't be worried too much. He used to hit it with consistency. Probably some rookie jitters.

What you say is true, but don't you get the sense watching him that he's going to work through this?   I also think James Young is going to come around, so maybe my glasses are too green.   Both Rj and JY look like shooters to me. Both have good length and form. RJ has the added feature of just seeming to know what to do on the court.

Considering where he was drafted, I'm not surprised that he isn't tearing it up.

Over the years, the shot will fall, if he stays in the league.

AB was supposed to be great scorer out of college.

It took a few years ,  give Hunter a chance for Pete sake

I hate when people do that one dribble bang into defenders and stop. Lame move that just ends up an offensive. You need to be ready to pull up at least.

Agreed. The NBA is really tough. College competition is a joke.

But we are ignoring the fact that he shot badly in his last year of college.  That's what has me worried.

Hunter's release and shot selection look really good though. He is going to come into his own soon. His defense is already so much better than expected

RJ has attempted 70 field goals so far in the NBA

i thought he'd be at worst a tyreke Evans type.  Now I'm
hoping he develops into a Rodney stuckey someday.  Very disappointing.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
You have to assume either RJ or Young will come around on their shot. It's been pretty brutal so far for both of them.
