This happens, guys.  The Celts are a BAD offensive team.

They put up points in a hurry at times because they execute Brad's system quite well and play at a fast pace.  But they just don't have the talent or the shooters to get much beyond 90 points some nights.

Gonna need some more talented frontcourt players (and better health / shooting in the backcourt) in order to get closer to offensive potency.

Should I expect a comment along the lines The Celts are a GOOD defensive team after a win or your posting thrives only after losses?  :P

People are right on criticizing Stevens, but he is still not responsible for Smart's shot selection or Turner's bad team defense. Do think it's scary that this year he doesn't seem to have an answer to any run other teams have

Smart's shot selection wasn't bad tonight, he just missed shots. There's no excuse for him missing those shots - he just missed. But with him not really being a knockdown shooter anyways and just now getting fully healthy for the first time in an injury-plagued season for him, it's going to take some time for him to get into rhythm and start shooting better.

His shot selection was bad. He really needs to stop taking those threes with the man in his face. I cringe more watching smart shoot threes than watching Turner shoot threes.
He is a 20 something % 3 point shooter. Of course the shot selection was terrible

We missed Bradley this game imo.  He plays, we win. Outside of Isaiah we really had nowhere to go. They had Reggie Jackson and Stanley Johnson hit a big  basket.   KO, Smart and Sully are still not clutch with their shooting.  We need guys who can hit big shots. They are coming but not really there yet.

I don't get it really minus that they are just young.  But it happens a lot. Our shooters wilt at the end of games. Our young shooters can't hit shots.  I don't think the talent level is that big a deal.

That shot by Smart and KO with that flat as hell 3 pointer.  Bleh.

Watch them again. Most of his threes tonight were due to the shotclock running down or the offense stalling and him having to shoot it.

Look, he's played like crap offensively since he's been back. But did anyone really suspect him to be shooting lights out four games after a major injury?

No one expected lights out shooting. But he's been taking these bad shots and missing them since last season.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

When I post in the game threads during a win and they play good defense, I typically will say so.

The Celts are generally speaking a pretty good defensive team.  That's been said plenty already.

The major weakness continues to be the crappy offense, which is a result of mediocre shooters and a lack of talented scorers.  We all know that, but despite that fact I continue to see people talking about how what we really need is a paint protector, offering up suggestions like "Let's trade for an ancient Tyson Chandler" or "We need Joakim Noah!"

Adding more offensive zeroes to this team won't help much.

We didn't deserve this win after how we played and shot free throws. Once again, Stevens deserves blame, too, with his freaking reluctance to change that ridiculous lineup to start the fourth. I'm really getting tired of having to question Stevens' rotations dang near every game.

Well, when you don't have a core lineup the team can lean on (which is exacerbated by Bradley, a stalwart of the offensive system, out with an injury), it's hard to settle on a set rotation or consistent lineups.

Brad does have a frustrating tendency to tinker, but I think it all plays into a bigger picture where he figures out what works and what doesn't.  On an individual game basis it can be annoying.

Just not sure what he sees in Jerebko that warrants him getting playing time ahead of either Zeller or Lee and forcing us to go small unnecessarily.

For once I'd like Stevens to go big and force the other team to adapt to US.

It's because the team has struggled to score so adding another non-shooter on the floor will only hurt things.

Jerebko gets time because in theory he can shoot, so he provides some much-needed spacing.

He's been terrible at it, so not a good justification.

Might as well get KO back in the bench if that's Stevens main concern. Our starting unit as it was was the least of our problems.
