No one was going to trade for Rondo while he had an ACL tear.
The second guess is was there a better deal we could have made in the offseason before we traded him. And we'll never know.

But given what ended up happening, Crowder is a great get.

Jumping lessons. Guy can barely jump/dunk. Heart in mouth every time he attacks the rim. That being said, he definitely has the spatial wherewithal to finish through contact.

The dude has to be 240+ pounds. That's a lot of weight to get airborne. If he could jump, he'd be Lebron.  :)
Barkley could sky also. You either got it or don't.

Still like Crowder's game. He's starting to perfect the drive and crash. Amazing and ones last night.

For the last 10+ games or so he's probably been our best player.

The best thing I can say about Crowder is that his performance has to make him part of the core that this team will build around in the future.

Coming into the season I identified the 3 as the position most in need of upgrade. This is no longer true.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Jep. Not only for taking him as part of Rondo deal but for giving him a chance to improve a to show what he can do. And of course for nabbing him next 5 years for cheap.

I bet Danny would be the first to admit that Crowder has far exceeded his expectations. So I think there is an element of luck on how this turned out. The primary asset we all talked about at the time was the 1st round pick. That almost seems inconsequential now.

Crowder's improvement from 3 point range and foul shooting are what stand out to me. The toughness and defense were always there. His high percentage from the foul line, if it continues, indicates that he could become an elite shooter.

Thank goodness we got lucky.

I feel like Jae was included because he was number 9 on the Mavs. Rondo was the centerpiece of the trade, they needed to preserve his RR9 brand. Thus Jae is a Celtic.

If anything, give Brad his due for taking this end of the bench player and turning him into a stud!

Edit: Also give Jae his due for his work ethic!

considering that we were about to lose ROndo for nothing, nabbing Crowder and a late 1st for him wasn't bad return at all.  Crowder has really played well.   Give Ainge credit.

Though he probably should have traded Rondo a year or two earlier.

Don't forget the 2 draft picks we also got from the Suns for flipping them Brandan Wright. One of which could, but most likely will not, become a first rounder.
