I don't "love it" if I'm Boston.
I've been living about two hours east of New Orleans for the past two and a half years, only in the past month have I actually made it to two Pelicans games (versus Celtics in early December and against the Clippers late last week).
That teams needs some help. Badly. The Pelicans are capable of beating more teams, they're just one bad possession away from it most of the time. I play around with the trade machine from time to time and I always gut the Pelicans' roster. Asik isn't the right Center to play with Davis, and I'm not sure replacing Asik with Ajinca in the starting lineup would help any. Asik usually sits at the three point line to start possessions awaiting a dribble hand off, then he passes the ball for the next sequence, then retreats to some unoccupied space on the floor because he has zero offense outside of putback dunks or layups.
ANYWAY, I don't love it for Boston because I really like Turner. I feel like he would be a major "get" for NOLA because Jrue Holiday has missed considerable time since first becoming a Pelican and Tyreke is as bad as shooting 3s as Turner, but he's hardly as smooth as Turner either.
I really just don't want any of the Pelicans' junk, but it's impossible to avoid if we'd really want someone like Anderson. That said, I'd give up Sullinger, Young, and the Mavs pick for him, though I don't think that trade would work salary-wise.
NOLA is in a sneaky-good position. They started off slow due to injuries that they'll likely miss the playoffs and come away with a lottery pick. Even if they turn around their season they can go maybe something like 40-42 or 36-46, I don't know. They'll still be able to clear Gordon off the books and could have two lottery picks if they dealt Anderson to us.
