I have a feeling that the nets trade will at the end become a problem for the celtics... no gm wants to be in kings position... none will make a risky move with ainge... to get something of value we will have to overpay... at the end off the day ainge ia stuck.. he has all the picks of the world but after 3 years he still has no player to build around.. and unfortunately i havent seen from the celtics scouting stuff the ability to find great not good players with bad pick.. we should once get a george a leonard a marc gasol something like that.. we have developed some players to be a supporting cast... we have never developed a pick to become a star.. so why all these picks????????

Well we definite can't rely on Free Agency at this point.

Any star player in FA wants to go to a contender and not start over.

I really think Ainge must trade for young talent who needs time and mintues to grow with our draft picks.

Barnes, Portis, or maybe some no-name from overseas.

Unless a miracle situation happens we aren't going to get over this hump.

Do you consider  Reggie Jackson's breakout in Detroit a miracle? or a  young guy who knew what es worth who wanted the chance with a rebuilding team?

The OP some good points but the fat lady has not sung yet.

The next major disgruntled star hinting out or not resigning, ainge has the #1 tools to grab him. He has this tool until draft night.

A trade at this year's trade line would be better bc we have the salaries to make a trade work

I don't think it's a sure thing we are in the best position to make a deal. We have a lot of assets, but the compatibility for a trade depends on a lot of factors. It's true that we could blow all other offers out of the water with a massive overpay proposal, but then it might not be worth it for us.

I think there are a few teams with good assets right now like the Magic, Sixers, Bucks, Lakers, and Wolves. In terms of draft picks we could most likely outbid them besides the Sixers. In terms of young talent on rookie deals, it depends on how the other team views each player.

Finally the lottery will shape the landscape of deals this summer. Depending on the final order and which prospects declare, we could either be in a great position or a horrible one.

unfortunately i havent seen from the celtics scouting stuff the ability to find great not good players with bad pick.. we should once get a george a leonard a marc gasol something like that.. we have developed some players to be a supporting cast... we have never developed a pick to become a star..
What about Rondo? We selected him at #21 and he is a four-time All-Star.

al jefferson is not chopped liver either. i think i may have heard of a guy named paul pierce too.

look at the draft slots ainge has had so far. given those slots he has done very well.

let's not wring our hands and say the sky is falling quite yet.

Odd that the Nets trade will make all GMs avoid making deals with Ainge, even though we've made like 10 trades since then
I'm bitter.

The SKY IS FALLING

I think our assets are not as valued across other cities as people think in Bean Town.

I call BS on the OP, we are in a better position today than we would have been if Ainge had let KG and PP go out to pasture.  We could  have been left with nothing.   This way we have some assets that should lead to a decent pick or something we may move.

No one may want to trade to DA though, because he has won so many trades in the past.  If that is the case, we try to get a stud in the draft.  Try to cash in on a team that is looking to cut salary because they loose hope this season.

These rookies have to get some playing time to see what we got. Rozier needs Turner's minutes at pg, Mickey needs Lee's minutes, and RJ needs JJ's minutes.

If we are going to lose to the Nets twice, the Lakers,  and almost Philly then I'd rather be seeing the rookies.

Maybe, just maybe, another gm likes what he sees too.

I have a feeling you are wrong.
Jack just went down, so the Nets are in trouble.

Jackson is a good young player and he and Drummond should be a quality starting point for a rebuilding team. But even that team as far ahead as they are still isn't a championship team.

We need more.

We need a stud in this year's draft. We really do.

Well, poor thing should go to the doctor, then.

What degree is it? Hope it isn't too bad...

Gotta get him well again. He still has a LOT of GM'ing to do, and doing a fine job of it, I believe.

Rajon Rondo has had a pretty successful career befor the injury.

Big Al Jefferson was not half bad either. He got us KG.

Rarely has Ainge had a pick high enough to get a guy like Paul George (drafted 10). He traded one of those for Ray Allen and the other one he picked Marcus Smart with. Smart might very well become a perrenial all star like Kyle Lowry appears to be.

Every week somebody post on here. What is danny doing? He is building a team and doing a great job.  We have three post coming open Turner, JJ and Amir. Plus Sully and Zeller can be let go. Our picks have slots. All we have to do is make one trade and all is well. Stay the course. Our Young guys are growing bigger tha role players.  One Trade can do it. There are only so many Stars. Ingram maybe better than simmons as well. Philly is going to trade a big all is well. DA picks this year and last look good. Young is still very Young. I am excited.
