Just wanted to point out the Fournier could become an interesting FA target this off season.

The magic clearly like him. He has been starting for them over Oladipo and he is a restricted free agent. However the magic currently have Oladipo due for an extension, Harris having just been resigned, Hezonja having been drafted and Gordon presumably getting minutes at the SF as he develops. This is not to say their isnt currently and in the near future room for Fournier but I do have to wonder how much they will be willing to pay him. If they think Hezonja is as good as his draft spot suggests then do they pay Fournier big money to battle for 2/3 minutes with he and Oladipo?

Fournier is still only 23 and has enough size to play the 3 or the 2. He is currently averaging 14.6 pts per game on very good shooting numbers. With AB and Crowder locked in to cap friendly deals do the Cs offer Fournier a deal in line with the 4yr 60mill Carroll signed or the 5yr 70mill middleton signed? Granted RJ may develop into a similar player but realistically they are only 1 year apart in age so RJ has a big gap to close to catch up to him.

Fournier could replace Turner in the rotation next year. I would expect Fournier to start over crowder allowing Crowder to still play similar minutes just off the bench. I also really like the prospects of an IT/Smart, AB, Fournier, Crowder and KO 5 out lineup.

I 'd rather have Batum, whom I feel is gonna be more attainable cause he is unrestricted. Of course Fournier would be nice as well (provided that we don’t have to hugely overpay for him).

I agree Batum should be option 1 Fournier 2.

Forget FA, the wing situation in Orlando is so ripe for a trade.

Tobias Harris, Aaron Gordon, Fournier, Hezonja.

Too many young players with similar skillset. And i would take any of them gladly.

I am happy with Crowder and Bradley most nights.   I think we need to replace our PF, Sully or get a C.  So pencil me in for Harris or Gordon.

I do not see them trading Fournier or Hezonja.

I am very happy with AB and Crowders growth and development and agree PF and C are going to have to be the focus moving forward. However I really think this team needs a SF who can be more of the focus of the offense. Fournier and Batum both fit that mold. Turner is currently used in that role at times but the ball dominate nature of his game isnt the ideal fit.

My ideal (with in reason) for next season would be

PG Smart
SG AB
SF Batum/Fournier
PF upgrade from Sully
C  Amir
6th IT
7th Crowder
8th KO
9th Zeller/Mickey

With this 9 man rotation I would figure the following minute breakdown

PG Smart      19min, IT 29min
SG AB           30min, Smart 10min, Fournier 8min
SF Fournier   24min, Crowder 24min
PF Up grade 30min, KO 13min, Crowder 5min
C  Amir         20min, KO 15min, Zeller/Mickey 13min

Obviously others like Rozier and Hunter would be plugged in on any given night

It's funny that people who want to let go of Turner want to sign Fournier. Fournier is like Turner, only worse.

I don't watch the Magic that much how is Fournier worse than Turner?

I admit I haven't watch much of the magic this year based on age and statistical shooting ability I assumed he would be a big up grade from turner

Considering that he doesn't do anything but shoot, I consider him a downgrade on the balance.

I consider him a player like RJ Hunter. Why pay Fournier loads of money when we already have Hunter on a rookie deal?

Agree with Coffee IMO Tobias Harris should be the target. Danny was -reportedly- interested in him last offseason and the last time Danny struck out on his number one free agent target Isaiah Thomas was a Celtic by the deadline.

Harris is a great fit for the type of go to scorer that Danny clearly covets. It would be tough for Orlando to part with him but we have a history of trading with The Magic and could offer them a package that would be near impossible to ignore.

This would open up The Magic to hold on to Fournier while acquiring assets, and handing the keys to Oladipo, Fournier, Hezonja, Gordon for a great wing rotation.

I'm not against Option 1 being TOBIAS HARRIS! If they want to re-sign Fournier maybe they're open to dealing Harris. He rebounds well and gets steals, a couple assists, etc.

He's a nice fit next to Crowder as a small(ish) 4. Theyd be able to switch on each other's man all day.

It's funny that people who want to let go of Turner want to sign Fournier. Fournier is like Turner, only worse.

Fournier is a better player in the modern nba compared to Turner. He can get to the hole and shoot the three, and he projects to improve even more.

Watch more magic games..The kid is clutch.

I'd rather wait for a proven All Star to spend  $15-17 million on but there's no comparison with Fournier's shooting ability. He shoots 40% from three and takes a lot of threes. He needs to get to the line more but yeah, definitely better than Turner-and Turner has been really solid this year.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
