Two players I think the Celtics could use.

Lee, Zeller, Jerebko

For

Martin, Pek and Prince

Celtics get another scorer, a solid offensive center and a veteran backup to Crowder.
Twolves get expiring contracts and Bird Rights to younger vets.

Thoughts?

Three years ago maybe.

But Pek hasnt even come close to touching the floor this year and he hasn't even started 5 on 5 drills. Plus he is slower than Brook Lopez to begin with and would be a terrible fit in BS's system. Plus he has 2 more years after this one at roughly 12 million a year.

Martin has only played 7 games thus far, and again missed the last two, and is shooting 37% from the field. He's also on the hook for 7+ mil next year.

This doesn't move the needle this year, makes us worse, and puts us in worse financial wise. No thanks.

I'm with you except that I'd note that Martin has played 26 games, started 12, and is shooting well from 3 (38%).  Still not interested, but Martin hasn't been quite as useless as you indicated.

have to agree with the comments about this deal being more appetizing if done 3 years ago.

I think a better trade partner for these Minny players is NO.  Pelicans could use the help (provided Pek will actually play sometime soon which is apparently a stretch) and they'd be good pieces for that team.  Not sure what NO could send back to Minny that would appeal to them.

Pek and his $12 mil contract with 2 1/2 years left on it coupled with the uncertainty of recovering from a ruptured Achilles are a substantial liability for the Wolves and any team that they trade him to. Taking Pek off their hands is a huge favor for which they will have to pay substantially.

I would think about assuming that onerous contract. I would consider trading Amir, Sully and Zeller for Pek, Dieng, Shabazz and the Wolves making their pick to us this year an unconditional one.

I would much rather include Lee in this trade, but the size of his contract would require more bodies coming to us, which either require a 3 way or us cutting someone.

I would love to somehow get the Wolves to eliminate the restrictions on their pick that we own. Any ideas, especially if it includes Lee as opposed to Amir ?

Nope. Sideways/slightly backwards.

We are better off with no trades. Just keep developing what we have. Of course, if a stud is available, not mediocrity like this, then we pounce.  Not until.

This from Minnesota is like Boston announcing Turner being available.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.
