Ok, so the Bucks just got him and he is at least putting up good numbers (I'm not going to pretend I'm watching Bucks games) so you would think they wouldn't want to trade him. But, they are probably going to be clearly out of the playoff picture by the time the deadline roles around and might welcome a trade that helps their lotto odds.

Lee would match for salaries. After that I'm not sure what they would value more, picks, our young guys or Sully. But what about a deal that includes the 2018 nets pick. Thats a big wild card. Lee, '16 mavs pick, '18 nets pick and a few seconds for Monroe. Am I even close to something they would consider? Can anyone do better?

Monroe would be a bad fit on the Celtics the same way he's a bad fit on the Bucks and wasn't a good fit on Detroit.  He puts up the numbers, but came to the NBA a decade late.

He would hurt our flexibility for the off season far to much and we would be stuck with him for 2 more seasons at 17 mil he isn't worth it IMO.

I don't know - I would have happily signed Monroe this offseason, but am typically hesitant trading major assets for a player that was just signed (and isn't adding anything to his team). It kind of reminds me of the Pistons Josh Smith signing. If we wait long enough, maybe they will pay us to take Monroe rather than giving up multiple lottery picks for him.

We're not making an offer for Monroe.

Doubt we could make an offer for Monroe without seriously overpaying. We had a chance (I guess) last offseason to sign him and we didn't.

Why would Ainge offer anything for Monroe? I think his stance this Summer showed that he didn't want any part of paying Monroe. Which I thought was a mistake personally. Even so, I'd hesitate in giving up value for him... I think he'll be a difficult player to retain. So unless we're doing a major run within 3 years, I'd pass on it.

Because he probably thinks Sullinger's defense is not poor enough. :P

Kid deff has some talent, but it's awful strange that a Milwaukee squad who's only major addition/subtraction was adding him, was an over .500 playoff team and now they're struggling hard enough to miss it all together.

Though, after the Knight trade last year Milwaukee was playing just as poorly as they are now, so who knows how much of their struggles are related to him. I just wouldn't give up much to go get him.

If we wanted him why not sign him this summer?   That ought to show you that we do not want him.

We could have got him for cash with no trades or asset loss and we did not.  Don't quit your day job and go into sports management.

I was disappointed we did not pursue him this off season.

I dont see why Ainge would want him  now if not then.
