Big test here for Olynyk. Last game he looked terrible against Detroit, in particular because he played with Lee and when Drummond was on the floor he had his way with them. Sullinger did a great job on Drummond, keeping him off the paint. Hopefully we can see more of that tonight, and with Olynyk being paired with Sullinger, hopefully Olynyk can have a better showing... not being a liability.

a good question. olly has become more assertive this season, but is still inconsistent in that area. tonight is a chance for him to influence a game with his scoring once more. let's see which olly we get.

flc, once more many holiday thanks for the great christmas thread. if i could give more than one tp at once, your stockings would be filled to the brim. your game threads really make cb a better place to be, especially during the holidays.

gooooo celtics!! a win here puts them in line for a 5 game winning streak.  ;D

I don't agree with that at all. He's only looked more assertive, and on occasions at that, as of late. This season, if anything, he's looked more confused than ever through much of the season. But he's playing quite well as of late, particularly as a starter, so let's hope it continues.

He's only "looked" more assertive, but really "looks" more confused??  What are you trying to say?

Well, if you read carefully what I said you might get the gist. Key words "as of late" vs. "season".

I want Olynyk to be decisive, rebound well and take opportunities when he gets them. I'm not expecting 20 points out of him, but if he just scores efficiently when he gets his opportunities, does all the little things and puts Drummond on an island by pulling other guys out of the paint, I think he should get more run as a starter when Amir returns.

Overall, I think the biggest challenge to the team will just be that we really have no one to check Drummond in the rebounding game when Sully sits.
I'd love to see Mickey get a chance to show what he could do.
I know VERY little about Mickey but in general I would say you don't want to give a guy his big shot trying to deal with a freak of nature like Drummond. I mean you have to expect him to fail that test at least at this stage in his development.

Hope Drummond dominates and makes Danny realize this is a treadmill squad that needs to tank. If you do not have a top 5 players you will not win

But Drummond is not a top 5 player.

You think Stevens keeps Olynyk as a starter or goes to him back on the bench?

Or Amir comes in for Sully as a starter?

Personally I'd like to keep experimenting with Olynyk and Sullinger as starters for now.

Olynyk getting around 25 minutes a game is the most important thing.  Bench or starter.

But I would start Sully and Olynyk if I was the coach.

Not sure what he will do, but I'd also like to see Olynyk and Sully start. That pairing seems good for one 3/4 court outlet pass (Sully) and dunk (KO), and the next step in KO's progression as a dunker is probably a windmill. :)

KO has been really good as a starter, so I hope we can see more tonight. Hopefully he plays 25 min or so, regardless, as Snake said. Amir's ankles could probably benefit from fewer minutes in his career at this point, anyway, and we are on the front end of a back-to-back here.

I like KO as a starter.  He seems to get into a rhythm better than coming in cold off of the bench.  I also think being a starter would give him more cred with the officials and maybe they could back off of some of those ticky tack fouls they give him.
