I saw this and though of it to be be quite interesting - -

Celtics get Ryan Anderson, K Koufos and WC Stein
Kings - ZBo, Jeff Green, Jerebko, Matt Barnes
Memphis- Eric Gordon, Amir Johnson, Sullinger
Pelicans - Rudy Gay, Courtney Lee and Jordan McKey

I would hate to give up Amir Johnson because of his salary matching for the trade deadline BUT I'd consider this trade....

Z-Bo + Cousins together would be fun. Power basketball.

I don't really see the point of this for the Celts.

So we give up Jerebko(on board with that), Amir (again I'm ok with that), and Sullinger for Koufos, Anderson and Cauley-Stein?

Sold.  No take backs!

I saw this to and I'm not sure how I feel about this trade.  I like the fact we get WCS, but I don't like getting Koufos and his contract.  If we could turn and flip him for something I'd be happy I believe.  Also personally I rather give up Rozier then Mickey, because I think Mickey has a higher upside.

I don't really see the point of this for the Celts.

We give up literally nothing and end up with the best prospect going forward.  If we really want Sully back I guess we could overpay to get him as a restricted free agent.  Amir and Jerebko are totally replaceable.

Anderson seems like a good fit in CBS's system.  Koufos is a legit 5 size wise.  WCS is an athletic prospect.

Oh wait, I thought McKey was some player I didn't know about.  That changes things a little bit.  If it is Mickey then we are giving up a young player too, that makes less likely to do it, but I probably still would.

We give up Mickey, as you note, and I'm not really sure how good a prospect WCS is.  He's old.  I'm not sure he'll ever be a starting caliber player.  We already have enough guys who might never be starting caliber.

You're right that Sullinger, Amir, and Jerebko aren't that important for us going forward.  That said, Ryan Anderson might be unplayable alongside most of our remaining big men.

Koufos is ... fine ... but is he really much better than Zeller or Olynyk?  Why take on his long term salary?  I don't mind Koufos as a player but I don't see the need to give up value to get him.

Kings say no. That's a real mess that this trade hands them. At least sweeten it with a number of draft choices.

Also: any team in the trade.

Yeah this just seems like a "shuffling around action figures" kind of trade proposal.

I don't like that trade for us, but TP for reading other blog's trade ideas and reporting back an interesting one.  Keeping things fresh, I like it.

I like that new-look Pelicans team

PG: Jrue Holiday
SG: Courtney Lee
SF: Rudy Gay
PF: Jordan Mickey
 C: Anthony Davis

Athletic group. Two shot-blockers. Size on the perimeter. Top defensive backcourt. Strong defensive foundation to build around. Good rebounding. Three shot-creators in Davis, Gay and Holiday. Two shooters / finishers in Lee and Mickey. Pretty good offensive team.

I think that is a big improvement over their current situation.

New-Look Kings

PG: Rondo, Collison
SG: McLemore, Belinelli
SF: Jeff Green, Matt Barnes
PF: Z-Bo, Jerebko
 C: Cousins, (filler)

I think this Kings team is an improvement over their current squad too. I love the idea of Zach Randolph and DeMarcus Cousins together. Two power players in the post. Both guys capable of playing inside and outside. They would be a terror to play against.

Most of the league is setting up to play "pace and space" basketball. Very few teams have strong enough interior defenders to deal with Z-Bo and Cousins. They would be a matchup nightmare for opposing teams.

I love the depth 1-4. Lack of a backup center is a small problem. It would be better if they could hang onto Koufos.

Rondo is also a problem. With a power-based team built around post play, you would rather have a PG who can shoot the ball.

It would probably be Gay at the 4 and Tyreke Evans at the 3 (or AD at the 4 and Asik at the 5), there's no way they'd start Mickey
I'm bitter.

That's an absurdly terrible trade for the Kings.
