This isn't like the 'Sixers Against the UConn Women' thread - the NBDL champs are likely NBA roster worthy players (especially in a shortened 'playoff' line-up) and while Philly would win, I don't think it would be a sweep.

Now, once Philly gets healthier, they should start winning more games; but with their roster to start the year (essentially no backcourt), the NBDL squad may do fairly well.

 Not if it was the Red Claws with Rozier, Hunter, Young and Mickey.

I mean this would be somewhat formidable, right?

Now if the league had enough faith in its fans they could send the looser of the series to the d league and promote the winner.

Not going to happen because of the bottom line impact on the loosing team but it would definitely counter the compulsion to tank.

Could be fun to introduce a new system, where the worst in the NBA would play the best team in the D-League. The winner gets promoted to the NBA and the loser relegated to the D-League.

Yeah, wouldn't it be awesome for the fans?  Your team has an unfortunate off-season followed by some bad injury luck and guess what?  Relegated for a season.

Anyway, I think everyone is wayyyy overestimating the talent level of even the best D-League teams.  Maybe if you got together the 15 best D-League players they'd have a shot at winning a game against the Sixers.

An NBA franchise would need WAAAAAAAY more than a poor off-season and some injuries to be worse than a D-League squad.  Even Philly is probably still too talented to lose such a series.

But is anyone really supposed to shed a tear for Sixer fans who have gone along with Hinkie's hypertank?
