The Celtics badly needed the schedule to get easier and it will for the next 7 games.

Their next opponents are -

Baby Twolves
Hornets
Pistons
Knicks
Lakers
Back to back Nets games

6-2.

Split with Detroit, Sweep Brooklyn. Beat LA. Win one out of Charlotte and New York. Win against the bab wolves.

It's time for this team to make a real run and this is the time to do it. I see a 6-2 at the least and 7-1 the more likely outcome of the next 8 games. Smart will be back soon enough. Stevens will get the team turned around quick. A few victories will get this team turned around fast and could see the end of this slump and the end of some of this team's shooting slumps.

Gotta be positive!!

Only gimme game on there looks like the Lakers.  They could easily split the rest, or worse.

The Celts are a decent team, but very few opponents are easy wins.

Agreed... this whole "cupcakes" narrative is misplaced.

This is about as easy a stretch as it's going to get. If some of these games aren't cupcakes, then our Celtics are much worse than a lot of us thought.

But I do agree that with the way we are playing, we could lose to the Twolves and split the Nets back to back. Man that would really suck.

you overrate the wolves. i would be glad to place a tp down on that game, give me celtics everytime this season with them. the odds are in the celtics favor.

I said in another post that if we got past Atlanta we could very well go 9-0 but after these last three games I don't think so. they are really in a funk right now and need to get back on track.

Yep right when the Celtics seem likely to go one direction or the other, they then float back to 500. Could be like this all season.

I see one loss coming from @ Detroit and one loss coming from home game Lakers (don't worry, we'll win @ Staples like the 'ol '10 and '11 days).

Other than that...eh. Hopefully the Celtics can do some damage in these next few days!

This team is such an enigma that I honestly don't know what's going to happen. There are times where they look like a top 5-7 team in the league, and there are other times where they look like they're on the same level as the Nets. However, no matter how enigmatic they might be this year, the Celtics aren't losing to the Lakers. That team is Philadelphia bad. They may have more NBA-caliber players, but they have a high school caliber-head coach.

With the east being a dogfight this year from spots 1-11, the Celtics may have to decide whether or not they want to just give up and collect more assets for a brighter future or cash in and get a star that distinguishes them from the rest of the pack with the Cavs. They have the assets to do both.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

But looking at that schedule, I'd say 4-3 over the next 7.  We've been having some defensive issues lately.  Need Smart back.

As previously mentioned, there aren't many easy wins in this league.  Maybe the Lakers and Philly at this point.  Predict losses to the Hornets and Knicks, and the 3rd one will come from someone other than the Lakers.  Hopefully not Brooklyn.

Cupcakes can rot your teeth over time, if you're not careful.

I'd hope that BOS takes these teams seriously, especially LA. Don't send Kobe into retirement feeling great about his last game in BOS.

Which style though?  Give them a 24 point 4th quarter lead, dangle the win in front of them, and then steal it back at the last second with a 21-3 run, or just decimate them the whole game and win by 39?  Or I guess a 3rd option could be have IT go to the locker room in a wheel chair and then come back hitting 3s in the 4th quarter.
