Justise Winslow- a trade chip

Zach Lowe referred to Winslow as "the most interesting trade chip in the NBA" on his latest podcast. So maybe there is some credence to the idea that Danny might be able to get his guy, and if Miami wants depth (although Lowe suggests he would most likely be moved for another star) we could certainly oblige them. What would you guys offer Miami for Winslow?

I feel like they way to get Winslow is how PHX got Brandon Knight. Get a third team involved who would rather have picks for their star rather than a player. Or at least a combination.

His defense and athleticism are definitely legit, but I agree that there are concerns. There's no guarantee he ends up being anything more than a defensive role player, but he certainly has upside.

Yeah I feel like he has Jimmy Butler type upside.  I like him but glad we didn't do that overpay trade.  I have interest in him depending on our situation and the price.  He fits on the wing which is nice for the build of this team right now anyways.

Those are pretty much my feelings toward him as well. I probably lean toward him being more of a 3rd or 4th option offensively and a defensive stopper, but I have no doubt that Butler-like upside is there.

Could definitely see something happening here.  Miami needs shooting.  Actually so do we, but if Danny still loves Winslow, maybe you take a step back short term if you have the chance to get him?  Bradley and some throw ins?

For a star, yes. Not role players. Not depth.

You don't give up a talent like Winslow 3 months into his rookie season for depth. Miami are one of the best run teams in the league. I can't see Pat Riley okaying that.

Agreed. They rarely play Whiteside in the 4Q and McRob has been pretty bad. Sullinger could be part inserted in the lineup to close games.

Depends on how they see him.  They have a problem with 3 point shooting and its significant enough where if they don't address it, they have no chance to contend in the East. So given the age of their roster, they need to go for it now.

It probalby will take more than a role player - but you could certainly call Bradley an NBA starter - and he gives them something they need.  You'll have to pony more up, but they are (at least reportedly) a little disappointed with Winslow's offensive abilities so far.

I agree. It'll take all that and more to get Winslow, though. Miami might have serious interest in Sullinger because of his RFA status. Allows them to keep Wade and sign him.

Man I would love it if this happened. The issue is I don't see it. The one team that says no without a second thought is the Magic. Orlando already has a big who can stretch the floor and is much more consistent than KO with Channing Frye. Not to mention Frye is a good veteran presence in the locker room and the Magic have Frye for one more year on his contract than the Celtics have Olynyk. Because of that, I don't see much need for Olynyk on that Magic team.

Not to mention I think Orlando, who is very much in the dogfight to make the playoffs, isn't going to be making any trades that could help their division rival, Miami.

Nonetheless, I'd love to get Winslow for Olynyk and that throw-away Minnesota 1st-rounder.
