We would likely have to throw in a couple of second rounders, but this could give us some offense.  I know KM is not having a great year in Minny, BUT he is playing in Minny.

Works on realgm.com:

Thoughts?

I'd do Jerebko for Martin straight up. Jerebko has a team option next year, while Martin has a player option. That means Minny keep  Jerebko next year while Martin opts out and walks in free agency.

If I'm Ainge and I really value Martin's shooting, I'd consider adding one of our lesser 2nd round picks as incentive to complete the trade. That's only if they say no to a simple Jerebko for Martin swap

I think Minnesota would be better off continuing to develop A.Payne. Similar player to Jerebko in earlier stage of development. Payne has long term role player potential. Possibly even as a glue guy starter. And Minny gets to keep Kevin Martin.

They are reportedly looking to trade Kevin Martin.

Ah, okay. I did not know that.

I don't think Kevin Martin will fetch much in the trade market. Maybe a late first from a contender. I think Jerebko would be a competitive offer if there are no 1sts on the table.

I think DA wants to keep the books clear for next season.

Precisely this.  I would say there's a decent chance Martin opts out to test free agency in a year where everyone has money, but I'm not convinced Ainge wants to take the risk he stays.  On the other hand, they have enough 2nd to dump him if he opts in.

I don't think Martin is worth a first, given his contract situation.

No way Ainge is trading for Martin, considering his salary next year.

Kevin Martin would really help pump up the scoring on the second unit.  He's a solid player so long as you don't rely on him for defense.

Jerebko and a couple of the second rounders we have coming this year (though ideally not the Philly one) is an offer I'd be OK making for him.

Yes.

Kevin Martin adds that scoring punch that we need to close games. Where do I sign up?

No way Ainge is trading for Martin, considering his salary next year.

Why not? He will count for $7.7 million next year, his last year in that contract. With the cap jump coming in, that's excellent value for someone who can still get buckets, something that we desperately need at the moment.

2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

Because every move Ainge made last offseason was about keeping flexibility next summer.  The lowest single year value of Crowder's contract is next season.  He paid Amir and Jerebko more upfront to have the non-guaranteed 2016 year.  He didn't negotiate much (or at all) with Sullinger or Zeller about an extension. There is no reason to expect that has changed two months in, just because the team has gone through a week-long shooting slump.

HELL YEAH! Let's bring over 37% from the field Kevin Martin to hit the big shots we need this season!

I really don't think that $7 million for next year hurts us that much as the cap will be $89 million!!  Martin had a 16.7 PER last year and shot 42.7% and 39.3% from three and 88% at the line!!

His career averages are 17.9 points per games, 43.8%, 38.5% from three, and 87% at the line.

As a standalone trade, it doesn't make much sense.  Martin is averaging 26mpg for the T-Wolves.  So who's minutes would he get here?
