If we were lucky enough to win the lottery, and Danny had the option on the table to trade it for Boogie would you do it?

The guaranteed All-Star numbers of Cousins? Or the promise of a transcendent youngster who will take several seasons to develop, most probably.

I would take Simmons.

Then offer future Net 1st round pick to try and get Cousins.

Yes, I am that greedy.

Ben Simmons.

This kid is supremely gifted and fills a huge need for this Celtics team.  He's going to be the real deal, IMO.

if we do trade that 16 Nets pick in any deal, Danny would be idiotic to not throw a top 1 protection on it. I understand that answer isn't necessarily in the spirit of the question, but i suppose that's a round about way of me saying I hope we don't have to choose between one or the other.  would hate for us to be wrong.

Simmons is my choice, if we're lucky enough to be in the position of drafting him. Cousins is unstable.

Ben Simmons is averaging 18.1 ppg / 14.4 rpg / 5.6 apg / 2.3 pg / 1.6 bpg right now through 9 games.  His team is garbage, but come on, he's going to be a superstar on a rookie scale deal the last year before the cap jumps.  He's basically going to be the third most cost effective player in the modern era after LeBron on his rookie deal and Dirk on his super team friendly deal.  Cousins is fantastic, but I wouldn't give up Simmons for him.  I'd probably do it for Ingram, but it would be a really tough pill to swallow.

Usually I'd say I'd go for Cousins, but at the moment I'd be leaning towards keeping Simmons and avoid the baggage.
