Rockets have denied any rumor of discussing Terence jones but they are now supposedly discussing him in deals. Are we a suitor for the big man?

This. He'll fit in nicely somewhere though.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

I like the skillset he can bring to this team. A power forward who can defend perimeter players and traditional bigs and offers a little bit of everything on the both ends of the floor. Is a rim protector(1.8 BLK last season) and can stretch the floor (0.7 \1.8    40% this season). What's Houston's asking price though?

Jones is more or less equal with Sully.

With Motiejunas back , Jones is expendable on the Rockets. It makes sense to use him to fill another need, possibly Point Guard, especially before his value drops more than it has already.

That's exactly why I'd want him

For what, though?   So he can share backup minutes with David Lee, Tyler Zeller, Kelly Olynyk, Jonas Jerebko and Jordan Mickey?

Lee and possibly Amir are gone next year. And I think Sully possibly too, right? Guys can get hurt. I believe in depth

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
If Jones can come at an incredibly affordable price, then I don't see why not. Lee, Sully, JJ, and Amir could all be gone after this season. If Danny likes the guy, then he will look towards next year, not worry about who is currently on our roster.

I agree, though - he would be totally redundant with what we already have and Mickey also looks to be playing really well.

Never enjoyed his game. He's redundant on our current roster and not much better than what we have.

No. He's someone that a team like Toronto should consider adding. He's a good fit next to Valanciunas. Lowry/DeRozan/Carroll/TJones/Valanciunas could make some serious noise in the East and perhaps make the Finals.

He wouldn't do much for us than what we already have. The argument could be made that he might have slightly higher potential than our bigs, but that's about it.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

How do we know Jordan Mickey doesn't snap both ACLs next week or get arrested for masterminding a treasonous kidnapping of a high government official?  If he's good quality young cheap depth I would think you would take it. I definitely don't really see the argument "Wellll....we have Jordan Mickey".  Jordan is doing fine....in the NBDL.

Plus if you want to make a trade for a decent player it's nice to have depth. DA actually had some left over pieces after trading for KG and Ray because of all the depth we had.
