As I understand it, refs are tracked pretty thoroughly. If a ref makes a certain kind of call or more calls against a certain team the league, supposedly, knows it.
they probably do know about it however they apparently do little to nothing with that knowledge

Obviously nothing excuses Doc and Rondo for their comments....But.... If a referee seems to genuinely stack the odds against certain players or teams then eventually one of them is going to crack and say something stupid. But yeah no one will look at the root cause so whatever..

This is a great example to me of why this whole story has moved into....oh my God who the hell cares, shall I cry Land.

A cruddy guy and a guy who has a great ability to be cruddy bump into each other and the second guy gets really cruddy and hurts first guy's feelings.

And in the mean time children are starving and get bombed.

Political correctness is a first world luxury and it sickens me. Go get a real problem.

"political correctness" is a condemnation of the kind of sectarian hatred that keeps many third-world countries unstable and impoverished. iraq is a perfect example.

yes, at times in the USA it can be annoying, sometimes people take it too far. but ultimately it's a sign of unity, not weakness. we should all be on the same side here, demonizing minorities or "others" is counter-productive.

What can they do, given the league is complicit in the horrible culture of NBA officiating.  Is there any other sport in the world where bias on the part of the referees is as openly acknowledged as in the NBA?  Refs treat rookies different than veterans, they treat superstars different than regular players and there are situations where they flatly decide they won't call a foul unless someone gets stabbed with a switchblade.

that's certainly one way to look at it. another would be to consider that actions are much more powerful than words and that hatred is often hidden behind smiles, while true decency is often not sensitive to ephemeral moods.

Yes, the WWE.  ;D

So you theorize that the reason the Founding Fathers were successful in setting up this relatively long lasting republic is that they were very politically correct?

I just don't assign that kind of awesome power to political correctness.

This is the instance people use to attack being PC?  Really?  People get disowned by their families and lose their jobs over this nonsense.  He may not be the best dude but it doesn't mean it's not a big deal to out him.  Pretty disgusting act on Rondo's part

Also factor in that the incident effectively outed Bill Kennedy in the public eye, which I've always seen as one of the meanest things you could do that didn't involve actual physical violence. Taking away a person's right to keep that information privileged or public is its own assault I think.

This is pretty rich coming from someone whose immediate reaction to the story was to complain about Christians getting made fun of.

Then of course there's this bigoted hate art, but it's against Christians so it has the protection of academia and the media and progressives everywhere.
