Just a thought: Trade Lee + Zeller for ZBo and Vince

Z-Bo was recently benched.  The Grizz as we know them might be on their way out after an extremely underwhelming start to the season.

It's not a huge, sexy upgrade or anything, and Z-Bo isn't an ideal fit, but swapping Lee and Zeller for ZBo (and good 'ol Vinsanity as a throw-in), would give the team some added punch down low. 

It might not make the Celts that much better in the regular season, but in the post-season having a guy like ZBo could make the difference in a first round playoff series.  You need guys who can step up and score in tough spots.  Think of it as adding an extra gear to your car that you only really need when you're trying to pass eighteen-wheelers on the freeway (a manuever I would never attempt in real-life).

Taking on ZBo and Vince would kill some of the team's cap space for next summer, but I'm not too concerned about that.

I'd love to get Randolph in here. Just a natural scorer, he's older but he's always been below the rim and his game should continue to age well. Shoots well to open up his post game but is good about not falling in love with the shot.

He's not the most natural defensive presence but those Memphis teams were always among the tops in the league at defensive efficiency so he must have a good understanding of angles and positioning. Couldn't have been all Marc Gasol.

He's also tough as nails. Thrives on pressure. Wont back down from more hyped players. Bring him in.

I could get behind this. I don't know if they would do this, but I don't think it's a bad trade for either side, maybe we add a 2nd or two but not a bad proposal either way. There have been a lot of reasonable trade ideas lately, good for CB posters!

As unlikely as the Durant + Hoford scenario seems, we should still categorically not do anything that kills our cap space for the summer. There's a big difference between unlikely and impossible.

I'd be OK with throwing in one of our first round picks likely to end up in the mid to late 1st (e.g. Dallas), or a couple of the many second rounders we've got coming.

I'm trading with Memphis I'm not going after z bo who I like.  We have him already in lesser form in sully.
I'd go after gasol.  Their team isn't going to get better from this point AND z isn't going to get younger.  Gasol for Lee salary filler and youth in draft picks or otherwise, zeller etc

Counterargument: having a skilled vet already in place on the roster might entice such a FA to join Boston.

The pick is only unprotected in 2021.  It is top 12 protected in 2018, top 8 in 2019 and top 6 in 2020.
