Nice piece in the Globe, talks about Bass and how he feels towards the Celtics organization.

https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2015/12/13/kobe-bryant-leaving-will-help-lakers-rebuild/12NLmHZ43g27MpImbP3BLI/story.html

(It's the second major section of the article)
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

We could use Bass this season---to match up with Draymond Green in the Finals---maybe we can trade Zeller for him.

That made me legitimately sad.

Would have loved to have kept Bass but, as Laker fans have already learned, he sucks as a center.  We desperately needed more shot blocking and low post scoring and when we added that in Amir and Lee, there just wasn't room for him at the 4.

I'm not surprised to hear he didn't want to leave.  I liked Bass a lot.  He was a consistent contributor and a great veteran role model for the young guys.

I was really hoping he'd end up on a team actually trying to win, even if he was just a bench warmer.  Disappointed to see him wasting the rest of his prime on that Lakers team.

That makes me sad too.  From a basketball standpoint, Amir's been more useful, and he seems like a really good guy as well.  I wish Brandon didn't have to end up playing out of position on one of the worst teams in basketball that also happens to be our hated rivals.

What a sucky situation for Brandon.  I hope he lands in a better one next year.

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
Reading it also made me sad too.

I liked Bass, but lets be honest... He wasn't going to take a severe pay cut, and he would've definitely hindered the playing time or development for younger players.

The only veteran I would really bring back would be KG, Pierce, and maybe even Rondo/Perkins/Allen.

I would love to bring back Pierce home though.

I wish he never left, but the Nets pick was worth it.

You mean Danny Ainge got rid of a player who thought had no future.  Shocking.  Strangest thing ever.

Basically LA hung themselves when they retained Kobe after the injuries.

Surely they knew he would not accept the role as a bench player.

They don't have the balls to hire a coach who would sit him on the bench and use him properly .

They tanked by keeping an old alpha dog who wouldn't accept a lesser role to help his team.

Lakers fans have even a shorter fuse for poor play than Celtics .   Bass is at the top of their list of players to beat on .  While the rest of the cities pay respect to Kobe ......the Lakers seem to resent him hanging around mucking up the rebuild.

Amir has a lot of Bass nice team attitude , hard working ,   but is much much better at the Five position.

I'm happier with Amir.

Too bad for Bass he was never able to extend his range out to the 3. He'd be a far different player if so. As it is, today's NBA has passed him by a little bit.

I wonder if he wanted to be here enough to offer the team a minimum contract.

Don't think it matters. There's no roster spot for him.

... or at least that's what he told the Boston Globe.
