To Wizards: Zeller, Jerebko
To Celtics:  Dejuan Blair,  2nd round pick, Alan Anderson (waive)

Why Wizards do the trade: They need big players as they are dealing with injuries right now. Zeller had a good season last year.  Still a serviceable backup

Why Celtics do the trade:  Get some assets back for a guy (Zeller) that they are not going to resign anyways.  Jerebko has done literally nothing for the Celts this season. Instead give 5-7 mins to Mickey a night.  Blair could be an insurance big body pickup in case Sully is traded at the deadline.  Send White to the D League.  add another 2nd round pick into the chest of picks

Lineup

C- Amir
PF- Sully
SF- Crowder
SG- AB
PG- IT

C- Lee
PF- KO/Mickey/Blair
SF- Turner/Young
SG- Hunter/Young
PG- Smart/Rozier

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.

Nothing about this benefits us at all.

Blair is worthless. 2nd round pick? (We have a surplus of those...)

Zeller is at best, worth a late first round pick to contenders... He is still useful to some teams, just not us.

It doesn't mean and won't mean Ainge will sell low.

Also even if Jerebko hasn't been useful, his contract is still useful to some teams looking to cut cap quick.

Now if we were getting back Kelly Oubre, it might be a different story... You just posted this thread just to put your Jordan Mickey should start/get more minutes two cents in, didn't ya? ;)

EDIT: If the mods think I was intending to be rude against triboy, I apologize. I didn't mean it any way shape or form. Just completely disagreeing with this trade proposal.

You can't just waive Anderson as part of the trade.  We don't have an open roster spot so we'd have to waive someone else before the trade would be allowed.

What the?? are you following me? lol

I doubt Zeller will get us back a late 1st. If he had another year left on his rookie deal, then yes.  For a mini headache coming up next season no.  2nd round pick or a decent looking prospect is prob the best we can get. Unless a team wants him in part of a bigger deal later

Your onto something though regarding the possibility of trying to acquire Oubre. Then Zeller and Sullinger would have to be included in the deal

Fixed. Forget White then

Not a bad idea. Wiz could really use Zeller. I think they'd be willing to pay a bit more to get him; perhaps they throw in an additional 2nd rounder or two?

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

I really wouldn't want to do anything to help the Wizards at all.  Let them miss the playoffs to kill what little chance they have of getting Durant.

This is the 4th 'Zeller to Washington' idea thread in the last two weeks. Use one of the old ones to chime in?

Don't understand this one. Jerebko's contract will be a nice chip on Draft Night (if not sooner). Why also give away the best player in the deal in Zeller just to eat Anderson's contract?

I like the way you think but I think the Celtics could get more for Zeller than Blair (who hardly plays and makes Sully look like Lebron shape-wise).

I mean the Celtics could turn its spare parts into another decent rotation piece. Zeller, Jerebko, and the Minnesota pick could net the Celtics someone half-decent. Markieff Morris comes to mind but the Celtics don't need another 4. I'm thinking more of a Luol Deng type player. I'd love another solid wing defender besides Crowder.
