along with 5 blocks-isn't it better that he is getting reps vs benchtime in boston, shouldn't this apply to rozier on away games?
whats up with these rookies bobby portis and justin anderson? -no playing time
powell who did just as well with red claws last year even better than young if you judge by all around
he is getting minutes for mavericks and usually in low double digits-
how about an article on weight training ,drills and results with our rookies-rj and mickey

what would it take to get a portis,anderson,gordon,russell,randal,oubre,capella--
are there teams that feel they got the wrong guy for them or have overvalued and would trade for another draft pick or player and pick-are there players that teams drafted that are too raw that would trade for 2nd rounders we have so many

All the guys you suggest habe got too much ceiling to explore. I could see teams giving up those assets only as a sweetener in a deal for an all-star.

I don't want to trade Mickey. We are handling his development just fine. let him get his run in the DLeague and when we make a move/he improves enough, let him come up and see how he can fill into the rotation.

i wasn't thinking really of mickey-it was more like some combination of youth, vets and pick for a rookie that maybe not be fitting in-justin anderson not getting time, philly needs a guard, washington a center --lakers have sat dangelo and randall also i think portis rubbed gasol the wrong way-willie cauly stein-

Generally speaking, rookies don't get a lot of time on good teams.  People rush to conclusions about these guys being expendable or their teams giving up on them because they aren't playing significant minutes to start their careers.

I doubt any of the guys you mentioned are seen as expendable right now.  They are doing what rookies generally do--biding their time, working, practicing, and learning, until a spot opens up for them.

SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

I think Mickey has much more value as a developing prospect than as a trade asset. I think Boston will get much more benefit out of training and developing Mickey for a few years than trading him at this juncture. Then (in the future) using Mickey as a player or as a trade asset after Mickey has established himself.

I think trading Mickey now would be premature and Boston would lose out value-wise.

I think Mickey has the talent to become a starting caliber PF. Maybe even a top 15 PF in league.

The combination of (1) athleticism and decent size (2) defense & rebounding (3) developing jump-shoot from both mid-range and long range in addition to garbage man plays. A better (due to offense) version of a Udonis Haslem or Taj Gibson as a glue guy PF.

Obviously, Mickey has a long way to go and has a lot of work to do. On both ends of the floor. But there is a very good base of raw talent there to be developed. And what Mickey potentially offers as a player in the future or as a trade asset in the future, greatly outweighs what he is worth now as a trade asset.

Notable exception: Justise Winslow, who's getting rotation and lots of crunch time minutes. Looks like they are counting on him for the playoffs.

I actually think Mickey reminds me of a mix of Draymond Green and Ibaka.

Not Green's vocal leadership or Ibaka's dominant blocking, but a mix of both. I think Mickey's intense defense, and hustle to lock down his opponents like Smart, lights a fire in his teammates.

Well , until he good hurt ,  it seems Celtics were making an effort to accelerate Hunter into a useful player by the years end .   I still think Hunter has something to contribute this year as a energy defensive player .......he could be useful in the playoffs

I don't think Rollie was suggesting trading Mickey, rather finding some of the undervalued players around the league who can develop in Maine like Mickey has.

I like the idea of trading for a guy like Capella or Anderson but I think the trouble at the moment is roster spots. If we make a trade this year for a superstar then I imagine we will free up some roster spots by nature of consolidation of assets. I could then imagine us picking up a guy like Capella or Montiejunas from the Rockets for a couple of picks in this year's draft. I think that would be worthwhile and would probably happen on draft night

I've been wondering this too. If so, I think he and KO could be a very good (maybe even great?) frontcourt duo... so I hope we keep him around long enough to find out.

I sure as heck wouldn't trade him.

Develop him and if he continues to progress, he offers a cheaper, team-friendly alternative in the rotation and makes one or more of these high priced forwards they have expendable and more useful in trades.
