Anyone seen this latest pic from the Nets pre game shootaround? Lol he's enormous. Too bad if his kneesfeet can't support the extra weight but he's probably been pumping weights to strengthen that foot knee too.
Really hope this guy can play next year- would be good for basketball and the 76ers fanbase.

It looks like he's palming a women's ball, his hands are enormous lol.
Dwight Howard physique.

Enormous compared to those girls?

I would re-familiarize yourself with Dwight Howard's physique.  His traps/shoulders make this kid look like a dwarf (and those are the muscles responsible for doing anything that requires your arms over your head).  Makes his forearms look like a starving child's as well.  Hell, even Jae Crowder makes him look weak.  Strength is more than just chest and biceps.  A gorilla has way more arm strength than Dwight Howard, but it can barely military press a feather.

Not exactly ripped, more of a soft DMC look.  About what I expect for a 7 ft. pro athlete who lifts weights (with professional trainers).  Not to mention, I can only imagine how many steroids he's on during this very lengthy recovery.

Maybe among top 10-15 strongest Centers, but a Dwight comparison is laughable.

Lol, now that you say it, the arms/neck do look lighter than his face.  Could just be the stadium lights?

It does look strange that his head and arms are seemingly different skin tones and they're both under the same light. Maybe it's something Hinkie put out to continue to fool the sheeple. Anyway, here is what he looked like at Kansas. Judge for yourselves:

A monster...wearing a tailored suit on the bench. I wouldn't give a bag of peanuts for this guy right now. He's a huge project who hasn't played a single meaningful minute in the NBA yet and has already had 2 bad foot surgeries. He may pan out but it trending in the other direction right now.

This guy will not play an NBA game until the season opener. That is not speculation that is what the organization has said. So we have a 2 page thread in December analyzing this guys muscles in a year before he will play? Can't this go on TMZ or something instead of Celtics blog.

Photo is a little misleading. I've seen video of him recently. He's mostly just overweight right now.  It's to be expected considering he hasn't been able to run.

I'm still betting on embiid being fine, though.  I followed his situation way too closely this offseason.  Philly hasn't been open about what is going on there... They flat out lied about what was happening... It still hasn't been confirmed if he rebroke anything... So all you can really do is guess.  But based on everything I've read, my guess is he could have played this season and probably WANTED to play this season, but philly wasnt comfortable with the level of healing... So they had him get a bone graft to maximize his chances of long term health.  Someone can look it up if they care, but I read some speculating yesterday that embiid's original surgery took place before he was drafted.  Is that true?   They were speculating that philly probably would have had him get a bone graft initially had he been on the team when the original surgery took place.

Who knows, though.  That situation is bizarre.   I expect to see embiid play next year.

I'm skeptical but also kind of hopeful that Embiid comes back strong. Not just because the more good basketball players the better, but because the better he is, the more likely the Sixers are to move one of their 3 centers (I really don't think any of them will be able to play PF in the NBA) and the Celtics should be in that derby.

Embiid's 1st surgery was before the draft which is why he couldn't attend the draft.  The rest is just conjecture but I don't think bone grafts are commonly done.  Durant had a couple surgeries on his foot before they did the bone graft surgery.

TP for your first sentence. He's looking great in his suit but no one here has any idea how he looks on the court.

So many people forget he was tagged as a project coming out in the draft. Now he's a project that's two years older, health issues and with a lot more rust. I'd take a flier on him but only on a buy low scenario and Philly would be crazy to sell him right now unless they knew his health problems were likely long-term because they'd be selling him low.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.
