Now I know we're waiting for something really good to come along, and I'm sure Danny has his targets, but should be take a risk and go after Carmelo?

Now I'm not deaf, dumb, or blind. I know how most of our fan base feels about Anthony, I realize he's 32 and coming off of knee surgery.

Here's my thing though, we're an elite defensive team that is scoring deficient. Lost in the hoopla of last night was that 3 of our starters barely combined for 20 points.

We need offensive firepower, if we can get another 20+ ppg guy, we're in the conference mix. Like potentially coming out of the conference. All we need is scoring punch.

Being this close to being a top team, yet so far away is killing me. What should we do? Paul George, Harden, Durant, all of the high level scoring wings are a pipe dream. The draft Will take time, and we're on the cusp right now.

Should we go after Carmelo and hope he lifts the offense and attempt to add more talent as we go? This would be the best supporting cast and coach he's ever had.

I know it's not a popular option but I've always been on board with Carmelo in green. Like you say we have the defensive pieces to accommodate for a player like him. I think Brad could get him to buy into the system and at this point in Melos career he could straighten out his shot selection a bit more.

We need a go to scorer who can provide for us at the end of games... Last night was a perfect example of that need.

A starting lineup of smart/Thomas, Bradley, crowder, Melo, and Amir would be interesting.

It would depend on how much we would be trading for him. Lee would have to be included for salary reasons, but who/what else would we have to include? I wouldn't want to include Smart or the Brooklyn 2016 pick, but I think that would have to be the starting point.

So I'd be totally in favor of adding him (which is a huge change from even a month ago), but I think NYK would ask for way too much
I'm bitter.

Id take him if he had like 1 or 2 years left on his contract, but taking on that huge contract is quite daunting
