Should the goal of being #1 seed in the east this season by all star break be a priority this season? Having that #1 seed lets Brad coach the all star game, and potentially be a sort of bait for free agent super stars in the off season. OR should we blow up the team and tank this season as the idea some on here champion?

Lol I love the two extremes. We are not in a position to tank, there is not a lot we can do even if we wanted to do. It would be great if we could somehow reach the number 1 seed and have brad coach. Very low based on the sheer number of teams ahead of us.

The #1 seed isnt very far off, like 2 wins and a Cavs loss away from it.

The Celts aren't talented enough for this kind of question to be in play.  They can't be in the business of flip switching.

They will need to play as hard as they can every night in order to stay in the playoff race.  If they do, I imagine they'll end up with a decent seed.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

We are realistically a trade away from being a legit contender for the #1 seed in the East. Whether or not that makes us a legit overall contender is another story. Nobody is in the class of GS or San Antonio this season.

Yes, it should be a goal. A more realistic one is to go for the #2 or #3 seed, but if Cleveland doesn't start winning games at a San Antonio rate, the #1 seed should also come into play.

It's become obvious that we are one of the better teams in the NBA.

Those who knee-jerk react after each game are incapable of seeing the big picture.

...or a healthy Cavs team (which we still haven't seen). Nonetheless, I suppose it is possible if we keep playing the way we are playing. You would have to imagine Danny would need to make a pretty big splash at the deadline to ensure playoff success, though.

Home court advantage and one playoff series win are great and somewhat achievable goals IMO.

I would be thrilled with 50 wins. It puts the team in a great position to be desirable to a free agent next season.

The Cavs are #1 and haven't seen a minute of Kyrie or Shumpert so beating them out for #1 seems a little far fetched.

I want improvement from last season. The goal should be getting home court in the first round and advancing to the second. That would be a successful season for this team.

Obviously.  We have the best point differential of any team in the East, and 4th in the league.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale
