Nice match with the Oakley!!!

I wouldn't stretch to Camby though!  Some of the stats might look similar, but Camby was a perennial DPOTY contender for years on end, and from what I recall was quite long and athletic.

I do feel Oakley was a bit tougher and had more of that 'Perk' mean streak to him, but in terms of their game probably very close.

I agree, Oakley really seems like the best match.  Camby is a stretch because of the shotblocking, but there really wasn't a better third season to include in the comparisons, and I wanted to do at least three.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

I think that Sully is best used as a Center. With his bulk he defends traditional Centers really well, and he is at his best when he stays down low and rebounds. Brad's used Sully perfectly this year.

Sully is playing center, he is assigned to cover the opposing teams center, because of his bulk and speed limitations. He doing a decent job of it. I have my doubts that Sully could be assigned to cover any of the quicker power forwards in the league. Sully is an undersized center until he really, if ever, looses enough weight to run with quicker athletic PF's. That's why you seldom see Sully playing next to Zeller.

IMO the Celtics have to decide if Sully is a true center on a contending team, or a back up center waiting loose his job to the future starting Celtic center.

Kind of a worry really given Sully's complete inability to put pressure on an opposing teams interior defense (thanks to his non existent post game and inability to get to the line)

How about truck Robinson?
Oakley didn't have sullys range or passing but besides that he'd eat him.  Or snap his arms off, twist them into a scissor form and give him a haircut ???

It seems to me that our sustained high pace has lead to other teams peeling off of the offensive boards to hurry on D. At least I see  A TON of uncontested defensive rebounds on our end recently.

Sounds great. But so far this year it doesn't seem to have made a dent in their really poor defensive  rebounding numbers.  It's actually kind of remarkable how good the defense has been, despite having so much trouble completing possessions.

Maurice Lucas?

Nahhh

He's been playing like what I'd hoped Antoine would have been.  Maybe without as much ball handling skills.
Yup

I kinda like a Danny Fortson comparison to Sully.

Danny never took 3's but the games also different now than it was when Danny Fortson was in his prime

Kind of what I'm getting at, the C's have to make a decision on him based on him being a center, or backup center, not a PF. He has limitations as a center for sure. But he has some very strong positives too. Signed to a team friendly contract as a backup center would be nice.

Great comparison. The C's had Fortson for a while at the end of his run.

Forston is a decent comparison. And no Sullinger is not worth max

Max pf players don't go 3-9, 4-12 etc

He is solid , especially this season but I doubt he will ever be an efficient scorer in the nba.  Streaky shooter and lacks any kind of dominant low post moves. He tried his first two seasons and got his shot blocked left and right.

Hopefully he keeps improving his shooting and keeps rebounding at a good rate.  Best case scenario is David West

Man i LOVEDDDD Danny Fortson for some reason. I wish I like Sully even have as much.

Sullinger is playing like he will net us more value than if we would have traded him last season.
