According to Woj, the Pelicans have been talking with Phoenix about acquiring Marcus Morris and shipping out Ryand Anderson.  You can read more here: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources--pelicans-interested-in-acquiring-disgruntled-suns-forward-markieff-morris-180654709.html

Anyway, what if we were to step in and divert Anderson to Boston?

New Orleans receives:
Marcus Morris

Boston receives:
Ryan Anderson

Phoenix receives:
Jonas Jerbeko
Tyler Zeller
Non-Philly 2nd round pick

We've used Jerebko almost exclusively as a 4, and Ryan Anderson is more able to fill that role than Jerebko.  Morris, meanwhile, is more of the hybrid 3-4, so Jerebko could fit better in Phoenix' rotation than would Anderson.  He also has a tradable contract (non-guaranteed next season).  Also, despite having Tyson Chandler and recent top 5 pick Alex Len, Phoenix has gotten mediocre production from their centers.  Zeller could find an opportunity to contribute.

Jerebko can be traded as of next Tuesday.

If I'm Phoenix, I'd rather have the better player. In this case, that player is Ryan Anderson.  I love JJ as much as the next guy, but I don't think he is better than Phx just cutting us out of that deal and keeping Anderson for themselves.

Was discussing this earlier this morning elsewhere, except our rough scenario had Lee and a 1st (Dallas') going to PHX instead. If Lee goes, PHX would have to send out some salary filler, and I believe both Boston and NOP have full rosters, requiring a cut. Your scenario seems less messy.

Instead of Zeller, would you move Turner?

Markieff Morris would be a huge addition for New Orleans. Big upgrade on Ryan Anderson.

I'd love to bring Markieff to Boston. No interest in R.Anderson.

No, I wouldn't.  We're thin at 2/3 already.  I like Anderson because I believe he could take Jerebko's role and do it better without messing up the rest of the rotation.  I've never been a fan of midsession trades that jumble everything up.

I wouldn't touch Morris with a 10-foot pole.  I think NO is desperate to even consider him.

I'd take Anderson over Morris.

Markieff Morris is 6'10.  I thought he was PF Center material.  Can he really play the 3 or are you confusing him with his brother (as you have done in name)...
I can't see incentive for Phoenix even if it's the Philly second rounder...

I have my Morrii confused.  That said Phoenix has been starting to go smaller lately, playing Teletovic at the 4, so I still think JJ fits there.

Package looks a little light going out from the Cs. Zeller could get some nice pick-n-roll opps with Knight. And sure, Jonas can plug-n-play for 10-15 mins a night.

But I think you're going to have to add a better pick -- probably the Dallas pick.

Meanwhile, this trade only clouds the annoying "who the h*** is Kelly Olynyk" issue.

Strictly in terms of defense, I think I'd rather have Jerebko at the 4 than Anderson. Ryno is clearly the better option on offense. I think there's room on the roster for both, but perhaps not for both, plus Olynyk, plus Sully, plus Amir . . .

No way would the Dallas pick get added for an expiring non-star.

Guy's the original "Stretch 4" in a now-Stretch 4 league, averaging 18 & 7. He's not a star, but he's good.

Dallas' pick would currently be 22nd in the draft. The Celtics got the Dallas pick, Crowder AND Wright for expiring Rondo last year....

I'm not arguing the Cs should do it, but I think you're undervaluing Anderson.
