Is he better than Sullinger?  Is he a good value at $11M-12M per year the next 3 years?

How about David Lee and a Pick?

Not sure I would give up much more.

He is absolutely better than Sullinger.  But what he really is better defined as is a younger, better Amir Johnson.

Why would they trade him? Focus on guys who their team has a good reason to move, then maybe come up with a trade idea?

He is better than Sully. He is an absolute steal at 11-12 mil per year over the next 3.

David Lee and a pick would have to be David Lee and then Nets pick. This kid can really play.

I never really get the idea of trying to trade for an established, under contract player who is an integral part of a good team. When do trades like that actually happen?

What do the Jazz need so badly that they would trade us their best player right now? Do you think the Jazz are looking at themselves at 8-8 with Gobert hurt and deciding to give up?

See above.

The Jazz need to figure out how to add to their trio of Hayward-Favors-Gobert, not break them up.

They already made their decision on who to trade last year (Kanter). Up until that point, I was all about Favors trade ideas; now, it just seems a bit far-fetched.

Still, everybody has a price - I am just not sure we (or anybody) would be willing to pay the price Utah would want in a trade package.

Agree with most other posters here. Also, your timing of this trade suggestion is really bad: Gobert just went down with an injury so Favors becomes even more important to the Jazz.

I wouldn't say absolutely.  Going strictly this year.  Personally I'll take Sully, who can stretch the floor this year and is doing these numbers in basically 5 minutes less.  Also this year a lot cheaper.  I hope we pay Sully around 8 to 10 million a year because he's showing he's worth it.

Sullinger 23 years old
Games - 18
Games Started - 15
MPG - 25.6
Total Rebounds PG - 9.3
Points PG - 10.9
Assist PG - 2.5
Blocks PG - 0.9
Steals PG - 1.1
FG % - .461
3FG% - .342

Favors 24 years old
Games - 15
Games Started - 15
MPG - 31.0
Total Rebounds PG - 8.6
Points PG - 16.7
Assist PG - 1.6
Blocks PG - 1.3
Steals PG - 2.0
FG % - .547
3FG% - .077

It's beyond absolutely. Favors impacts the game at significant levels on both ends of the floor, he is locked up on a cheap deal, is young and athletic, and only has room to grow. He has a higher basketball IQ, takes better shots, and is a true in the paint presence who excels at defense.

He is absolutely better than Sully, but the Jazz are absolutely not going to trade him.

I had looked quickly at Favors numbers and I think I misread (I think I saw his career ppg at 11.1).  I didn't realize he was scoring at 16.7 ppg with 54.7 FG% That is solid.  It appears by the numbers though that Sullinger is a better rebounder (13.1 vs. 10.0 rebs/36min).

Their career averages are pretty close but Favors has 2 more years in the league as he was drafted younger.  I guess I don't see all that much of an upgrade.

I made a similar post not too long ago about trading for Favors.

I'd consider giving up the Brooklyn pick if we could pull of a blockbuster trade for both Favors and Hayward.
