So I saw this on BR (I know, I read BR....)

http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/2594829-nba-blockbuster-trades-that-should-happen-during-2015-16-season

Boston Celtics Get: C DeMarcus Cousins and SF Caron Butler

Chicago Bulls Get: PG Isaiah Thomas

Sacramento Kings Get: F Jae Crowder, F/C Taj Gibson, F/C Kelly Olynyk and 2016 unprotected first-round pick (via Brooklyn Nets)

That's a lot to pay for DMC but we keep our starting backcourt and only give up 1 Nets pick. Chicago seem to come out huge winners here so maybe they could give up a pick as well? My concern is that the return for the kings is in the middle of rebuilding and winning which is unhelpful, but as they seem to want to be competitive maybe they take it!

The Kings are something like 6-5 with Cousins and 1-7 without him so why would they make a trade that makes them worse?  If they make a trade, it will be a smaller move to make them more competitive for a playoff spot this year.

I agree with you, my personal view is they won't trade Cousins in season. The earliest would be draft night if this season was a bust. At that point they would know the value of the Nets pick and others and can say they gave it a shot with Cousins this year.

I only bring up this trade because I haven't seen anything like it before. Not sure I like it myself, just thought I'd bring it up for discussion

I think we give up a little too much and the Bulls don't give up enough to get Thomas.

No chance the Kings even think about making that deal.

I agree.  Crowder + Gibson + Olynyk = 3 bench players.

3 Bench players and a likely decent lottery pick does not seem like enough to get Cousins.
