seems he is using crossovers and trying to navigate in the paint
unfortunately he is travelling along with jerebko who is lifting his foot too early
are refs calling it tighter
they seem to allow lattitude on showtime dunks and even downright incompetence

Experimenting? It's what he's always done.

I think Experimenting is a kind word for what is happening.

He should experiment with The ESPN NBA Trade Machine, and find himself a new home.

IMO Kelly is a tease. My patience is wearing thin, with his up fake routine, and his turning down open shots, to pass to a teammate with NO shot. He looks OK playing against D league competition.

Kelly is a 7' backup point guard.

I dunno what to say about Kelly anymore.  I think maybe playing on a team with frequently shifting rotations and a lack of clear offensive roles is difficult for him.

He makes so many smart plays and seems to bring a lot of intangible value to the floor, and I like that.  On the other hand, there just doesn't seem to be a good reason that he can't consistently put up 6-10 points each game, and his rebounding is weak.  Definitely a frustrating player.

He just really doesn't play enough.  He played 10 minutes vs the Heat.  It's probably my one big complaint so far with the rotations.

To me it seems like when he gets comfortable on the floor he has started to shoot threes more.  Otherewise he still makes good plays.  Like he passed to Avery in the Heat game when Avery was on fire (which was the smart play).   His defense is a lot better.

We are playing Lee over him bascially when I think Kelly should get all those minutes and play 20+ per game.  Lee has played pretty well some games recently to his credit but I like Olynyk more with his shooting.  Lee is more around the rim where he gets blocked a lot these days.  And we really need to play him in his third year.

He has had some cold shooting early in the year (but I think good shot selection) and he's shooting 34% from three.  I just think considering how we need shooting many games we should be finding a way to play him.

Yes.  Kelly's always "experimenting" on the basketball court.  I firmly believe that for a player as skilled, and with as many tools in his arsenal, as Kelly Olynyk, it may take him a bit longer to really blossom as a pro.  There are just so many diverse skills for him to consolidate and figure out how to use in a way that maximizes his effectiveness.  It's more of a juggle for him than for most.

I think it'll eventually be worth the wait for those of us who have the patience.

Shooters usually shoot the ball better when given longer minutes. I think this is especially true for perimeter jump-shooting big men. When you only get 4-5 shots in 16-20 minutes, it is hard to build consistent long range shooting.

It's not that he gets 4-5 shots... it's that he chooses not to take more. I mean, he's quite often open with a shot to take and doesn't. So... one can say something about how much minutes he plays (if he warrants more or not), but it's another when within the minutes he gets (whichever they are) if he's putting up the shots that he should be taking. He isn't.

he's very skilled, but lack aggressiveness a lot times and consistency. I wish he's a little bit more selfish. I honestly think if he puts in enough work, he can totally mimic his game after Dirk's offensive game.

I agree. He needs to be on a very bad team and play 40 minutes a game. I think we would all see the real deal with him. I bet he would put up some nice numbers as "the man" on a team. It is so hard with all of our big guys for any of them to get in a rhythm.  I would love to see Brad experiment a little bit and pull a Popovich and take turns resting a couple bigs a night. Letting 2 guys run most of the game just to see how everything flows.
