15 pts, 11 reb, 5block shots

http://youtu.be/1PMUJKOcEXY

Thank you triboy16f!

But whose minutes is he taking?

Might be better for him to get the reps down in the D League.

What about Jerebkos 5-7 mins a game

Jerebko has done very little this year. Unfortunately, nobody is passing the ball to him either

Trade Jerebko and Zeller to the wizards

The best comp for Mickey right now is Bobby Portis. Not much separation between picks, most mocks had Portis going to Celts at 16, and some felt Mickey slipped in the draft. Then Portis showed out in preseason with a motor that transferred nicely to the NBA... and beyond that, scoring, rebounding, and ability to hit the 3.

Portis has been buried behind several veteran bigs in CHI. Seems there's a good deal of frustration there from fans, and coach acknowledged that frustration by saying he will get important minutes in the second half, and they love the kid. Noah has taken him under his wing. Noah also had just his first double double of the season tonight, and Gibson has been woeful all season (Mirotic, too).

After a 4OT game last night, Portis finally got legitimate minutes tonight... resulting in 20 pts, 11 rebs, 2 stl (2-3 from deep) in 23 mins. Dayum. He had played a total of 26 minutes on the season prior to tonight, nearly none this month. Ready when his name was called, I guess. Hope Mickey is, too.

But, Mickey doesn't play with the same intensity (though he's tough, it's just that Portis is possessed). And he hasn't shown that he can score the ball at an NBA level... and honestly, watching those clips, prove that to me now just as much as it did in SL and preseason. Unless he shows he can step out and hit the 3 very consistently right now (because he never has, and because he's playing against high-schoolers), and unless he shows significant improvement guarding perimeter players (because he couldn't in college), he is not going to see any of Jerebko's minutes... no matter how bad it gets. Jerebs can play 2 positions, he can shoot, and for those 2 reasons alone he's Stevens binkie (and deservedly so, if compared to a D-Leaguer).

Glad we scooped up Rozier at 16, though. And here's to Mickey, hey?!

Again, I worry that PT at the NBA level may cut into the prep time Mickey has for his HOF induction speech this summer.

I kid...but there's no rush on him.  We're not winning a title here, regardless.  So if Mickey is a stud, he'll get his chance sooner or later.

Hah. I agree, he just needs to stay locked in and keep getting better. If he's worth his salt, he'll get a chance. All things considered, he was drafted into a very good situation -- with 2 aging guys on short deals, and the issues among our young bigs that are being argued about in other threads lately... he has a chance to crack the roster and possibly even earn a long-term role. But he's not who we should've drafted earlier.

He has the explosiveness, all around defense, shot blocking, underrated offensive tools to help this team.  Jerebko has made insignificant impact these days. Sullinger looks tired.

Why not sit jerebko for a game or two and give Mickey a run.
still beating this drum Triboy?  Mickey's for next year.  Just let Mickey develop his game this year without the pressure of having to try to beat out 5 other bigs on the roster that are better than him.

not that I object to finding someone better than Jerebko but Mickey is not a SF.

I would like to see Rozier backup the point, and Mickey take Jerebko's place.
Then Turner can play the two or the three and not handle the ball so much.

I'm very high on Mickey myself. Not sure when he should get on the court, but at some point he should... be it now or later, I really am in no hurry right now.

I'd love to see Jordan Mickey get some PT with the big squad at some point this season.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

I doubt it.   Let's see after the trade deadline

The way things are going, no need to keep Lee.  If Sullinger is not part of the long term plan, trade him.  Zeller and Jerebko are also available to be traded.

Danny rarely waste assets (let them walk for nothing, unless there is not much interest and he is ok with keeping for the rest of the season (like Bass)).

yesterdays NBDL game - 26 pts vs Knicks
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4B3efcL-jVU

very happy with what i'm seeing in this clip. Mickey has ability to spin with his right/left hand.  Shoot the 3. Blow by bigger guys , fakes, up and unders, explosive finishes around the rim.  Oh yeah, and he can play defense too

If you remove the name and poll NBA fans who you're describing how many people would say Mickey? The way you overrate him is crazy. Triboy, it's D League...breathe. Fab Melo dominated the D League too...breathe.

I agree on calming down regarding the D-League performance but Mickey is nothing like Fab. Mickey has shown more in his limited minutes than Fab in his Celtics career.

Ainge isn't about to trade the 3-5 bigs that are ahead of Mickey. If this team is playing well through January,  I could see only some small moves being made. Unless they suddenly go on a 20 game losing streak, I doubt Ainge would p!ss off Stevens by trading by trading away 1/3 of his team so he can play a kid Stevens has already determined isn't good enough to crack a rotation yet in his career.
