And Isaiah Thomas is one of them. The other four are Westbrook, Harden, Lillard, and LeBron. While all of the other four have better numbers across the board, Isaiah truly is in elite company. Thirteen games through the season, we seem to have an All-Star on our hands.

That's pretty good. Unfortunately he's no where near as good as any of those players. We couldn't even put him in a package to acquire any of those guys.

My questions is how good can your team be if the best players is 5'9"? :-[

keep in mind that the fans vote for the starting fives of the All Star game.

The bench is voted for by the coaches. I'd say the coaches like IT, and might think he deserves it. From that same perspective, IT is probably the poorest defender of any potential All Star guard in East.

I'd say he's about 40% chance or so get voted by the coaches. His main competition behind John Wall as the starting PG will be (without a healthy Kyrie)..
Kyle Lowry
Reggie Jackson
Goran Dragic
Jeff Teague

That's a pretty tough four guys to get past.

Only Lowry really makes that tough.

Thomas is easily up there with Jackson, Dragic and Teague - in fact I would argue he is better than all three.

Lets not forget that Thomas is putting up the numbers he is despite only 30 MPG.  His Per 36 numbers (25 points, 7.7 assists) are well beyond what any other Eastern Conference PG is averaging, to my knowledge.  The only ones who really challenge that are Curry and Westbrook, and both are in the West.

He's not 5'9" - he has actually been pretty consistently measured to be between 5'10" and 5'11" in shoes:

Neither Chris Paul, Kyle Lowry or Rajon Rondo are much taller than that.  All have been arguably the best player on some pretty good teams.

Neither were Allen Iverson or Isiah Thomas, who were both superstars and the best players on their (very competitive) teams.

Hard to believe. None of those players get abused on defense and all of them have a better handle.

You're going to tell me Rondo and Iverson never got abused on defense?  Really?

I also question your comment about handle - Paul is a better ball handler than Thomas...not sure about the others.

Also none of those guys (Bar Iverson) ever scored at close to the rate Thomas has scored at since he became a Celtic.
