They are going in , one after another after another. And not just the midrange but three point shots.  One difference I see unlike the past is that he is not hesitant or rushing his jump shot and after every shot holds a follow through "pose" for a second or two.

So after 6 plus seasons, several different coaches, playing with future HOFs, he has finally figured out how to shoot the ball.

Rondo is still playing defense with mediocre effort , but his new jump shot benefits him alot on the offensive end for many reasons (easier for driving etc).  He can also stay out there late in games.

Good for Rondo. I thought there was not a chance in the world he would become even an average shooter.

FG% 43.8
3pt% 31
FT% 35

10-16ft 11.1
16-3pt 35.8

Regardless, his jump shot looks much better than before.  If he can figure out how to hit the open 3 and 2 with consistency,  FAs accuracy will come next

We've been playing this "Hey, his jumper doesn't look terrible this year, it's actually going in sometimes!" game for like, five years.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

What do you mean regardless? The data not only doesn't support your initial post, but mocks it entirely.

Hey Triboy.

Nice of you to start a positive thread on Rondo. I would add that before last year, his jumper was much better. It wasn't above average, but it was serviceable. It's not like his jumper was always totally broken like last year.

How can any professional basketball player shoot only 35% from the free-throw line?

He has made 9 3's and 7 free throws on the year so far LOL!  His defensive metrics are terrible and nothing else looks any different than typical Rondo empty stats from playing massive minutes of late.  OMG triple doubles!!

Haven't watched much of him this season, but before he tore his ACL, his jumper was actually quite solid. It's regressed considerably since then, but that jumper, particularly the pull up jumper he had going for him, made him a very promising player moving forward. But it is what it is.

yes let's talk some trash about Rondo again and again because why not, right? if there's something wrong with him - it certainly has to be said! last year after the trade (for example) his assists went down and it have to be mentioned. this season he producing not just assists and rebounds along with triple-doubles but yea it's just empty useless stat. when Westbrook didn't reached playoffs he was pictured as an hero with his triple-doubles, they surely wasn't for nothing. with Rondo it's another different story. he needs to go in China, when y'all will be finally happy smh as you written him off. so right, let's talk about his freethrows percentage, since everyone else in this league way to far beyond him in every [dang] aspect, every player is literally perfection... but him wow you're right, this thread has been too kind towards Rondo, freethrows needs to be mentioned

To quote one of my favorite movies (Benchwarmers): "Eaaasy, Children of the Corn."  ;D

I don't think his numbers are meaningless or empty (though I do think he sometimes passed when he could've shot, just so he could get the assist). All players have their flaws, and I'm intending to focus too much on Rondo's, but this is a professional basketball player who is failing miserably at something fundamental. It's like when Chuck Knoblauch couldn't make an accurate throw from second base to first.

That's worse than Shaq I think .

I never seen a guard with such poor shooting skills
