Disappointing
Seriously? You must have hated the 2008 Celtics.
This stuff barely registers with me. Two big men were playing physically and one threw an elbow? It doesn't make me want to hide the women and children.
Doesn't change the fact that cousins deserves a suspension for acting like a tosser on a regular basis. When is this guy's talent or sacramento's talent as a whole going to translate to any wins? At what point does being a leader become his responsibility instead of being a complete sook half the time?
Anyone who trades multiple high picks for this guy is making a mistake.
I'm inclined to think that not many of us would be great leaders if we were stuck on a losing team/horrible franchise. It would be pretty depressing.
Not that I'm defending DMC in this or any other particular incident, but I think what Roy is saying is not that DMC is the same caliber of player as KG (though I think he could be), but that they're quite similar in terms of on-court "jerkiness," regardless of their motivations for being so. I like KG, but there were many times during his Cs tenure that I shook my head at his juvenile on-court antics.
Everyone of those garnett youtube examples there was already a physical confrontation or ball battle.
Cousins threw his elbow at horford's jaw after the ball was through the hoop and everything should have been over. Is al horford really the sort of guy that strikes you as a thug? What happens if that elbow connects and horford gets a serious concussion? You can end careers with that sort of crap.
What happens if smart breaks his arm or dislocates his shoulder when Cousins throws him down violently last year?
Kevin Garnett hated the other team and didn't care what they thought.
When cousins doesn't get a call and gets into sulk mode he hates everyone and doesn't care about anyone else, not even his team. A lot of the time KG played great when angry and getting under the other team's skin. Cousins' play very rarely benefits from him acting like **** and his team definitely doesn't.
If its not helping your team, then learn to control yourself.
