UFA Hassan Whiteside center Miami - The Heat's core is aging, he may want to partner up with a young group of guys on the up swing.  He will get the max where ever he goes.  I know he has had some maturity issues, but is he coming around?  Worth making a pitch to?

UFA Nicolas Batum SG/SF Hornets listed at 6-8 200 lbs - same thing may want to move from MJ's house of cards to a more well run competitive team.

RFA Evan Fournier Orlando - probably a long shot, Magic has plenty of $ to match any offers.

Does Hassan scare you off?     What do you think about Nick's game?

while decent players, I see them as fillers to put around some prime players.  I'm not seeing the advantage of the C's going after them until they get at least 1 stud player.  sure, they'd improve the team incrementally such as Lee and Amir have done in place of Bass and Wallace but I'm hoping Danny can make a much bigger move at the deadline or offseason.

I thought Hassan was signed on for a good team friendly contract.

And Batum, and Fournier? No thanks. Batum has been doing well this year, but he isn't even a top 7 SF in the league. Hes going to command over ten million, and I would rather the Celtics not throw it at him.

I'd love to sign Batum. Skilled SF who can shoot, drive and pass. Great athleticism. Defends well. Has improved his rebounding considerably. Quality all-round player.

Still on the fence on Whiteside. Unsure about how good he is. Good numbers but not always as good impact on the game. Put up empty numbers too often last season. Looking forward to seeing more of him this season.

No, Whiteside is unrestricted and the Heat doesn't have Bird rights.

That's my concern - what stud players are going to be available?  I 'm hoping that we draft a future stud player next June with the Nets pick.

I could see Ainge making a run for Batum. He seems like a Brad Stevens type of player.

Whiteside worries me.  Right now, he is on a team with all-star vets with rings that I am guessing have good lockerroom leadership.   I think that is something of great importance with Whiteside.

I feel the same. He's such a talent but he wasn't even in the league not long ago because of personality problems. If he has a nice year it would definitely be worth meeting with him in person, though.

I like Batum but he's never going to be an all star.

Fournier looks good so far, I'd be interested.

Or maybe I'm just saying this bc I was able to pick him up in my fantasy league.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Derozen should be the one that we throw everything at this offseason. Young, defends well, has improved every year and fills a huge need for an athletic wing. I am sure his close friendship with Amir does nothing but help our chances also.

Add Derozen, lottery pick (Hopefully Skal, Brown, Simmons or Ingram) and this team looks really good heading into the next season and beyond.

I thought Derozen was pretty weak on defense, if so that would be my problem with him.  I'm probably in the minority but I think any new additions had better have defense in their DNA.

none really, unless you think Durant is obtainable in some manner

So there is no point in signing mid-level guys to huge contracts.

Whiteside is the only guy that seems like he could take a leap and thus he is the only guy worth looking at.  Plus he plays a real position of need.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Bigs - Shaquille O'Neal
Wings -  Lebron James
Guards -

I'd absolutely love to have Batum on this roster. I think people may be a bit wrong saying he doesn't have star potential. No, he isn't a Durant guy obviously, but he was behind Lillard, Roy (earlier on), and LMA for his whole career. This guy would average 16-18 PPG in our system with 5 RPG, and 5 APG. He fits a huge hole in our roster, and if we aren't getting a SF in this draft (Simmons, Brown, Ingram), I'd totally want the Celtics to pay a ton of money to bring Batum in for his prime. Heck, he may make the all star team this year if CHA stays in the playoff race. He's currently averaging 17/6/4, and he's a very good defender. He's the perfect fit for what the Celtics want and would finally (as much as I like him..) make Turner completely useless for this team.
