To Boston: Snell, Portis, Memphis first round pick

To Memphis:  Noah

To Chicago:  Sully, Jeff Green, Evan Turner, James Young

Still curious what people think of this one.  I think it should appeal to Chicago as it helps
them a lot this year and even going forward.  Memphis is getting old and might need a couple
second rounders since they're giving up a first. 

Of course, scratch it if Boston planning to re-sign Sully.  He is our best big whether people like it or not.

I don't like it because we don't need any more draft picks and because the Celtics are sending out a way better bunch of players than they are receiving. Also, this will make the current team worse. Sully and Turner are important players in the Celtics rotation. Sully is the team's best rebounder by far and Turner the second best ball handler and initiator of offense.

This is nothing more than a trade to blow up the team, to get younger players playing and to essentially tank. Its not happening this year.

If Sully is getting traded its for a better player and to a team that will be willing to resign Sully next year.

Dives to the ground for loose balls pretty much more then anyone else on the team

I hear ya.  And If JJ or Hunter is a better option at the 3 than Snell then this thing starts to look awful.  I'd have to have a good scout convince me that Snell could hit the 3 better than any current Celtic option at SF AND be good on defense AND that Portis was destined for good things.  Although Sully is our best big I don't necessarily see this as a tank move though (not that extreme) due to our depth.  And I do like adding the first rounder.  Celtic first (around 18?) plus Memphis first (around 20?) = pick 15?  Or both picks added to the Dallas pick to go from say 11 to 7 or 8?

We have so many picks that I can no longer see them as individual picks...

I agree too now is the time.  I also think that it is a perfect time for Kelly Olynyk to step up and get 30 minutes a game in his place. Everyone knows Kelly's +/- and I think more minutes will solidify his effect on this team. Getting a good Scoring Small Forward will help a ton.

If he keeps this up for a month or 2 maybe he could be a centerpiece in a Kevin Love trade with say Lee (for his salary) and Turner, and maybe a draft pick or 2(keeping the Nets pick). 

Maybe the Cavs will think they can get away with a poor man's version of Love, more depth with Lee and Turner, and not such a huge tax hit going forward.  They can re-sign Sully for not nearly the 20 mil Love is making now.

Ainge makes his big splash and still has the Nets pick in his back pocket.

Could be a pipe dream, but I think Sully will only be dealt for a clear upgrade.  In the meantime I'm enjoying how he is playing now.

I don't know what you're trying to say here... or why you quoted a single sentence from a larger post to make it.

Maybe you misread my post. It's frustrating for me to consider having to trade a guy that is often our best player. How does that not make sense? I like him, would like to keep him at the right price. But we need to upgrade the roster and he could be our best asset to do it (without touching picks/Smart).

not sure exactly what people are expecting in return esp. if he's the centerpiece of a trade. if he's the centerpiece of a trade I doubt anyone trades a big in return....and we don't need any more guards...and we have enough mediocre SF's.

We won't see any trade until mid December when more players are able to be moved. But I wouldn't be surprised to see something happened before January, involving Sully or otherwise.

Hopefully whatever deal Ainge makes involves sending out multiple guys, unclogging the roster, and bringing back a real talent.

Exactly! I honestly think Jared Sullinger is a championship caliber backup PF. And thats no disrespect, he could start easily. We just have a logjam of inconsistent post scoring. I wish we could just hold onto him and find a post scorer and shot blocker in one. This draft could produce one in Skal Labissiere, Ivan Rabb or Jakob Poeltl and we have a shot at them all.

I agree.   And SUlly still probably has more trade value right now than he'll have if he breaks something again.  If we offered him up to the highest bidder right now, do you think we could get a mid 1st for him?
