As my favorite shortstop and announcer would say every time my Yankees would hit another home run off the Boston Red Sox......"HOLY COW"

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Really, a Yankees reference in a [Boston] Celtics blog??

I will go with 'defensive domination'...

Smart dominated the game despite shooting cold as ice.

That's the stuff of champions

Great gif, great moment, great playoff run. Despite not even making the Finals, this might have been my favorite Celtics playoff push ever. The shot by Pierce over LBJ to put the Celtics up 5 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrQnRanX9B8). And then maybe one of the most emotional substitutions ever when Doc brought the Big 3 out at the end of game 7 of the 2012 ECF.

there were a number of things I noticed in these away games -

Smart played a big part in his defense, and some of his offense. I admit I was going crazy with all those missed 3s yesterday

-team defense
-Inserting IT4 into the starting lineup along with Amir and Sully
-Sully is really playing for that contract extension.
-BS' ability to throw in players and different defensive schemes at the right time, subbing in players at the right time

I loved the 2012 playoff run.

What's so amazing about that .gif is that the only one of those guys in the league anymore is E'Twaun.   And also, we were playing Philadelphia in a playoff series!  And they were pretty good!

One of my favorite Truth moments. It was the playoffs, the Heat, LeBron, end of the big 3 era. Just a lot from that shot.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Scal was mentioning this and the box scores won't show the effort and energy that Smart brings. You could see the Rockets just give up in the 3rd period and the Cs feeling that too.

Scal was right on point too when he mentioned you could have the most talented guy on your team, but effort and the little things go along way.

hmmm? sounds like everything I said about him last yr. and continue to reiterate.

Smart might not ever have the stats or numbers to be an all-star. but the things he does influence the only stat that matters - the win column.
