Smart doing everything out there , 26 pts on great shooting , held Westbrook to 5-20 shooting , 1-11 in the second half

Is this what we should expect every night ?

Coming of age game!

I think Russell Westbrook's mom is trying to file a restraining order.

  • GOT IT!!!
If this Smart showed up 3/4 of the season he'd be an All-star. He was everywhere tonight.

Smart shows up big in big games. This is not true of all NBA players. Picked the right game to score  some points.

Where is the guy that refers to him as Marcus Banks 2.0?

Coincidentally, he only shows up in Smart's bad games.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

He's also been called Tony Allen 2.0 by the big Sixers fan.

Nah, poor man's Tony Allen.   Since Smart is reportedly not as good a defender as Tony Allen (doesn't matter he does eveyrthing else better) and also because Tony Allen is overstated to 6'6" in height, while Smart is shrunk to 6'2" (but only for the purpose of that argument).

I loved his control at getting the lane tonight. Three plays:

1. That left hand layup over Ibaka was the kind of drive I expected more when he came into the league. He may not be Ginobli at getting the lane, but I would like to see him get in the lane, in control, like that more.
2. The play that he beat his defender (Waiters I think), got into the lane, created contact and drew the foul on Kanter, and then faded away to try to get the and-one, was excellent. It showed that the game is slowing down for him a lot.
3. Finally, Stevens is inverting the offense!!! I expected this more last year, but Smart wasn't ready. I love seeing Smart and Turner in the post surround by 4 shooters.
