Say we traded for Cousins but Brad left because of the locker room turmoil.

I want Coack Stevens here for good.

I think I'll take the young bright coach, and not risk a potential blow up situation. What say you?

I have thought about this .

I think the deal is .......somebody .....the owners and DAn......have to explain the pecking order

CBS is your coach ......whether you stay or not .......

Has to be made clear , Boston has Bosses OTHER than stars..

The smart money is on the superstar, if you can guarantee we've got 10 healthy years to build and compete with him on board.

My biggest concern with Cousins is just that I think he needs another, bigger (or at least more experienced / proven) star in the locker room to check him when he gets riled up.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

The owners , DA and BS will have mull over this really good.

Back when KG and Doc were here I d been perfectly fine.

Doc is master of sucking up and holding players like Rondos hand ......that is Doc forte ......playing father to the spoil stars .

Now ......I don't know ......DA has a huge temper himself .......the flare up would be between him and Cousins .

CBS .......I think he has the patience , and we have Walter too......

But DA won't allow Cousins to cuss any of the coaches out .  You can bank on that.

I'm for bringing him in......but he needs A  chain and has to be made aware there are boundaries and RULES .....rules civil people follow .

I don't mind his emotions on the court .....I expect him to get kicked out of games .......

I d have clauses ......in the contract ...attacking fellow p,ayers or Coach is automatic dismissal

Of course, Brad Stevens.

why can't it be both again?

I will say this though, the one thing stevens hasn't proven to be able to do in the pros is coach that ego driven superstar. I won't use Rondo as an example because other coaches have had a hard time doing it as well, but still...it is something Doc was able to do.

right now it seems it's system over player, which imo is the worst mistake a coach can make.

Unnecessarily divisive hypothetical. We haven't been faced with that choice.

The best response was something along the lines of "Brad, our picks, and our cap situation." TP to that guy.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

I agree with the system over talent is not wise , but with such a malcontent in Cousins you have to be very careful with what you are going to give up for him . The C's are set up perfectly to be able to add high level draft picks the next 3 seasons . Also having max cap space (I know everyone will ).

Are other max free agents going to come here if the know how much of a knucklehead Cousins is ?

If you give up 2 of Brooklyn's picks (including this years top 5 pick), which is what it will cost . You are stuck building a team around Rasheed type player without the other vets there to keep him under control .  Pistons  had Billups , Hamilton, Ben Wallace as strong minded vets who wouldn't be intimidated .

Doc was able to coach stars because they were all 10+ year vets whose only goal was to win a championship .

This is a much different situation where we are putting a lot of the future on a guy who has already shown he can't carry a team to the playoffs as a main man, loses his cool way to often ,and gives up on plays because of his temper .

Put him in a media market like Boston and have him as the only All-star on the team with other very young players, and a young coach , plus losing a couple of high end draft picks from Brooklyn sounds like a very bad idea to me .

Definitely Brad.  However, I'd rather have any sane young top 15 player than Brad.

I think people are putting way too much stock in our draft picks. they should be used to get established talent. the only way I would want them to even actually draft players or a player in this draft is if there was a Duncan, Durant or Jordan available. while I don't follow college closely, last I heard there wasn't a player of that caliber coming out this yr.

our picks this yr. have more value imo if we trade them before we see the draft position.

No great coach has won a title without stars.

Some really average coaches have won titles with stars.

Always need to get the player over the coach.
