During yesterday's podcast he said that it was a 4 team deal and the Knicks, Celtics, and Hawks were in, but at the last minute the Hornets backed out.

So according to Simmons it would've been somthing along the lines of:

Celtics
#4 pick, but giving up 4 1st rd picks

Knicks

#9 (drafting Kaminsky)

Hornets
#16

Hawks
#28

Hopefully the plan was not to use #4 on Winslow or Hezonja, they both don't look worth it at all so far. If it was for Porzingis it would have been brilliant.

I'm guessing that would have involved Sully going to the Hornets? I remember there being some rumour of that on draft night.
I imagine that it would have been Winslow that was targeted. Although I would have preferred Porzingis or Hezonja personally.

Who do you think the players moved would have been? Or is the suggestion that it was only picks moving?

Well, considering the Sullinger rumors I would think he was going to the Hornets. It must have fallen apart at the last minute with the way he followed the team on Twitter.

There was a rumor that we really liked Hezonja, and that kid looks like a player. A lot of upside there!

That would've been a steal. For those saying Winslow and Hezonja aren't cut out where they were picked, didn't see the game where Winslow shut down Harden, and Hezonja is still a young player with room to grow and develop.

Holy, just checked Winslow's age, and he is still only 19. Wow.

He's an incredible defender already and as he gets more minutes, he's going to get more aggressive on the offensive end. Kid is an absolute stud and I can understand why Danny wanted to give up so much to get him.

I wonder if we had a specific target with the #4 pick that was higher than Winslow.

Danny doesn't seem to be the type that's enamored with European prospects, so Porzinigis probably wasn't an option considering his skinny frame.

Pretty sure Danny had Winslow as his target most likely. There was way too many rumors leaking out for him to have absolutely no interest or smoke screening it.

I like Winslow's ability to push the tempo too. Hes also very underrated passing out of double teams.

Who would you have chosen with the 4th pick?

Yeah I'd say it was Russell or Winslow. Winslow would have been an amazing coupe at #9 if he could have pulled that off.

Bummer.  Would've been awesome to see that happen.

Imagine having Winslow, Kristaps, Hezonja, or maybe Cauley-Stein already on board right now with the 2016 Nets pick coming down the pike . . . ah well.

Are you sure the Nets pick wasn't going out in the trade?

Leave it to MJ to mess us up. >:( That's too much of a tease.

I hope he chokes on Kaminsky.

What is ridiculous is that the original rumor was Sully and our pick for the Charlotte pick. That presumably was turned down despite Sully being younger than Kaminsky and already showed more.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I think there's been speculation about which picks would be included.  I recall the term "a future Nets pick" being used, and I have to assume it was the 2018 pick, or the 2017 pick swap right.

That makes the most sense.  Trading the 2016 pick along with three other picks would be an enormous overpay, even without the benefit of knowing just how bad the Nets have been so far this year.
