i remember when zeller first started plaing for celts he seemed lost, very lost and then he started finishing rondos pick and rolls
he showed a precise soft flip hook either hand and nice touch around rim, as season progressed he bacame a durable reliant player-his outside shot from mid range had a very high %,free throws again almost automatic and he ran the court
he thrived at beginning of games from mid range pulling out the non guarding center and he handled the ball well
to my eye zeller thrived on consistency and timing to become almost automatic around hoop=
driven off his spots and surrounded with a menagerie of players he misses the rim
lee has completely taken him out of his game, off his spots and changed the rhythm of players around him
no wonder zeller can't dance-1234 flip score,1234 shoot score, 1324 a miss,1423 a miss-the timing is not only off but wildly altered for zeller by lee

TP.  Fred Astaire couldn't have analyzed it better.

hey neurotic
, could you help me with zellers lack of rebounding-does he hold off his man let the quicker forward/guards release for rebounds and  he takes off upcourt early
offensive rebounders have a certain gift and can take body blows often times in past, i thought they often had a more padded upper body-silas even bird not necessarily vertical-i quess sullinger is a good example-
so back to zeller is it on defensive boards that posters are complaining about  and why is his average low-tp for whoever clears this up

Zeller has always ran the floor and he excels at beating his man up the court.   When guys do this they do not always seal their man off because they are cheating to get a lead on them.

He has yet to jell with his he fellow bigs and the point guards .

Rondo made him look like Bill Walton .

Zeller needs .....a Rondo high skills guard to,set him up .

I d like to,see Zeller come off the bench with Hunter and Rozier and KO and AB

Its funny how quickly fortunes change.  2 weeks ago people were calling for trading Sully and Zeller was the steal of last year's trades....

zeller did not have rondo long ,as the season gets longer players stop running or playing good defence-zeller should improve
i think with amir and our tenacity there will be more injuries to guards and crowder and amir-
so the point is zeller and turner should not be traded
brad will put zeller in a better position and turner fills in from guard to small forward-its a very long season playing destructive defence

The worst thing to happen to Zeller is Lee...Lee just gets in his way and clogs things up...Zeller is getting screwed with no playing time...As the season unfolds, you'll see that Lee needs to go...

I'll have to watch more closely, but when you talk Sully/Silas -- these guys plant(ed) well and use their hands/upper body well on the box out -- stay planted until they have a shot at the ball -- then quick to the ball with their man boxed.  Tyler has different body type and I wonder if he just can't hold the box-out and whether quickness to the ball is also a problem.  He certainly doesn't have Rodman hops either.   But you may be correct that he releases on the body early to get up court.

I agree Lee and Zeller is a horrible mix. Both work on rolling or cuts to the rim. Their offense (shooting spots) is almost identical. The combos I prefer in order
AJ+Zeller, should start good O&D and length.
AJ+Sully, good O&D and IQ. Sully first big off bench.
AJ+KO, Spacing and team chemistry.
KO+Sully, heavy O and spacing along with chemistry.
Sully+Zeller, high offense IQ.
KO+Zeller, Creator and finisher big pairing.
AJ+Mickey, Defensive lock down.
Mickey+Sully, Rebound hoarding
Lee+AJ, Vets.
