Looking like Sacramento is a fire sale waiting to happen, and no stock is rising in the NBA market faster than our 2016 bk first.

Cousins would sure fit nice alongside Amir, or as the line big in 4-out lineups.  Final piece to the puzzle, Ainge might argue.   Lee plus the top overall pick should get it done.

Amir isn't even an above average starter . Cousins would be the 1st piece, not a final piece .  Still wouldn't even be top 4 in the  East

If the Nets pick is #1, can we keep that and still trade for Cousins?

It's not going to end up this way, but as per http://www.tankathon.com, we currently have 10,11, and 14 plus 4 second rounders.  More realistically, even if we have a late lottery and a late teen pick, could we move those along with current players and/or a future Nets pick for Cousins?  It could be possible.  Imagine adding Simmons and Cousins to our young core.  I'm dreaming, I know.  But it could be possible.

Voted Boogie but I would rather we made a run at Anthony Davis.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I can't see the Kings having any fire sales. They've barely played together and Cousins has been out the last 2 or 3 games - he's their franchise guy and without him they stink, but with him they're probably good enough to win 35-38 games in the West with a bit of luck. Nothing world beating but a significant step in the right direction.

If we did get #1 I'd probably prefer to take Simmons over Cousins and then try and get Cousins as a free agent...he knows how badly Ainge has wanted him and that probably means something when we pitch him on CBS and our young role players.
If you are Cousins and see
Smart
Bradley
Crowder
Simmons
Cousins

Or replace Bradley with Jaylen Brown and Simmons with a solid free agent PF that would be a very tempting situation for a fresh start with a professional organization in the weak Eastern Conference.

I wonder what Rondo would say about Boston to Cousins...

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Yeah, his head.
I'm not sure an all out investment in him is too risky.

Exactly! If we get the #1 or #2 pick it is much more likely to be a sure thing since Ainge isn't the type to draft an Anthony Bennett. He is VERY GOOD with drafting in the top 20 of the draft.

We need to be PATIENT. If we get pick 1-3 then we should keep it and develop the player, and use our other picks/assets to get someone like Cousins.

What happens to the Dallas pick if they end up for 7?  Does it revert to 2017 with the same protection?
Yup
