we're the same team as last season. last season we were a borderline lottery team that happened to make the playoffs because the east was bad.

I said before the season started it doesn't really matter what we do and our fate will be decided more by weather the other teams in the east are good and I still believe that. we all know this is a collection of guys being asked to do more than what they're capable. translation - role players with no star to play off of. and that could go either way, you could see the group of role players rise to the occasion or you could see the group overwhelmed by opposing teams with some talent... which could be this yr's team.

I do think Stevens should get some criticism if things don't turn around though. it's almost starting to look like he's in over his head with what he's given here.

It's obviously too early to panic, but I'd like to see the Celtics simplify things. They are at their best when they make simple consistent plays in transition. The best shots any team can get come from simple plays in transition, and high pick and roll. We need to keep doing this until teams stop us from doing it. Veteran teams like the Spurs can do all the D'Antoni 7 second offense stuff, but we are going to make mistakes getting that cute. I thought we were at our best last year when we ran a basic fast break drill. If they take that away stop up and play your halfcourt offense.

The team really needs to make some kind of a trade that will loosen up the roster and, ideally, bring back another go-to scorer. They're just not going anywhere if the second best shot creator is Evan Turner.

I think there are too many guys on, basically, the same level fighting for playing time. Too many guys in the rotation makes it harder to establish an identity. Maybe the biggest thing about last season's late run was that they solidified the roster and found an identity to work toward. This team is still kind of shapeless, which makes everything harder.

I don't think we're a bad team, I do feel we're a team in need of a trade.
In order to acquire a solid player in a trade, you need to tantalize a potential trade partner. In order to tantalize, you need to showcase your roster. I think that's what we're seeing now.

It has to be difficult to trade a player or players, when you have no up to date game film. I think we'll see this revolving door in reference to player minutes, until the trading deadline has passed.

I think there's a chance we are showcasing Sully, but I couldn't imagine anyone else. I also think Danny will continue his value trading game which means we won't get any flashy players. I think if there is a blockbuster trade it will be in the offseason. Obviously Danny is trying to get as many chips as possible for when a superstar becomes available - it would be pretty crazy for him to abort mission and throw all the chips in for someone like Rudy Gay now. I can't imagine what would have to happen this season for a move to be made for the short term.
