Had to do it, after someone commented in the Dallas thread about how Minny were robbed against Portland which they really were.

Next up for those plucky wolves - Miami on Thursday.

I would trade our (Boston's) next two first rounders to see KG win the championship with the wolves this year.

As much as I want the Timberwolves to do well, I'm not getting my hopes up. They have played against the three worst teams in the west and have 11 other competitors for the playoffs. I just don't see them doing it because the youth need another 2-3 years to develop.

In an ideal world, Minnesota barely misses the playoffs and knocks the Mavericks one slot down in the lottery in the process.

My honest expectation for them is to get the 12 spot ahead of Denver, Lakers, and Portland, but that's it.

The Timberwolves just beat the Bulls in OT in a game played in Chicago.  They really hustled and looked like a good young team.  Townes and Wiggins both played well.

The odds are still against the C's getting a first from Minny, but one thing that will help is that Minny is not likely to try to lose games at the end of the year.  It's worth more to their long-term development to make sure their young talent gains winning NBA habits, instead of trying to shut it down the last 15-20 games of the season.  Even, in my opinion, if it costs them a draft pick.  That team has sufficient NBA talent.

Yeah, wouldn't make much sense for them to go after an other young player, at some point those rookie contracts go bye bye and they have to start paying them some real money if they pan out. They have three VERY good prospects and a couple other really nice young players to surround them with. They would be smart to move Rubio and Shabazz from some vet help that still have a couple years on their contracts to do what KG is doing and mentor these kids.

Futures bright in Minni, but than again it was bright at on time with a young KG and Maubery. Hope it works out a bit better.

Yep. Contrastingly, if Dallas collapse and are lingering around 8 or 9 spot late season, you can bet they will tank hard.. Although a good pick next year doesn't really help with the win-now with Dirk mentality which they are married to.

I was really impressed by this win last night. The Wolves got up huge then the Hawks came back and took the lead with 3 minutes left. At that point Wiggins took over and made sure they won that game.

It might sound crazy but if they can stay healthy I wouldn't be surprised if we kept our pick.
DKC:  Rockets

It sucks that Ainge didn't hold out and insist that Dallas pick was only top 3 protected.

The T-Wolves are the most fun to watch team in the league right now with an added bonus of us possibly getting their #1 pick.  I'm finding their games very compelling.  Hope they can stay competitive.

They're struggling right now.  There are some highlights but 4 losses in a row...not pretty.

Their pick is around #8 right now...Celtics don't get it in that scenario.

It's no coincidence that Rubio has also been out for the last 4 games.  No Rubio, no W's for the T-Wolves.  The drop off between he and Zach Levine (who isn't a point guard no matter how hard the T-Wolves try to make him one) is tremendous.

Ricky needs to stay on the court.  I think the bottom 2 - 3 playoff spots in the West are completely up in the air this year and Minn could be a legit long shot to grab one of them if they can keep their key players healthy.
