C's don't have any players as good as Lowry,Dorozen or Valanciunas

Watching the game the other night , this is what came to mind. I was really excited coming into the year, and still expect the c's to get the 7th or 8th seed , but we are a long way from being a top 4 team in the east , nevermind contending for the conference or a title .

Don't see anything changing until at least next year . No point in giving away Brooklyn 2016 pick at the trade deadline when it could be a top 5 pick. Nothing else on our team other than maybe Smart would have real value in a trade .

Maybe 3 years away from reaching the conference finals ?

I think you are sleeping on IT4 and Smart. These two guys are pretty good.

I think Smart has a chance to reach Lowry's level, but IT is what he is , an undersized 6th man. Very good bench player, but undersized and not a true go to scorer .

What did Valanciunas do last night? 6 points, 10 rebs, 2 TOs on 2-6 shooting?

Rellllaxxxx, we shot 27% on 3's and 37% overall. We're going to have bad nights. Plus, it was the second game of the season. Let's give it some more time before we start hitting the panic button after one game...

Valanciunas was a high pick with prototypical size for his position but right now I think Thomas is the better player.  It also seems that Thomas is improving at a faster rate despite being older.

yes and no...we do have a player who is as good in IT4...

I think to succeed you need at least two, preferably 3 guys who can score at will or make plays

CLE has Bron, Kyrie and Love
CHI has Rose, Butler, Gasol
GSW has Curry, Thompson, Iggy/Green/Bogut who can also make plays

for scoring, we only have IT who can really score whenever he wants or where ever he wants. We hope Smart can be one, but so far, doesn't look like one...still a leader who can provide offense sometimes but not someone I'm entirely afraid of on the offensive end...Turner? nope, maybe Sully but how sustainable is it. Bradley? besides being a spot up shooter or cutting, I don't see him as a person who can "score at will"

so yes, I think we'll still make 7th-8th seed...it'll be nice if we can get top 4, but I don't see that from us as of now.

I disagree on Valanciunas, but yeah, Lowry is awesome and DeRozen is really solid.

Isaiah Thomas is comfortably better than Valanciunas and at least on the same level as Derozen and Lowry. No question.

But the spirit of the OP is correct. We just don't have the talent yet.

Valanciunas sucks. He's pretty much a huge bust.

Isaiah Thomas and Smart are both better than Valanciunas.
I'd argue that Amir Johnson and David Lee are better than Valancunias.
Toronto has Lowry and DeRozan and some nights those two guys are going to catch fire and hit some unbelievable shots.

DeMare Carroll was also on fire from 3 point land as was Terrence Ross.

Just one of those nights.

The other two are 75 % of everything they do.    Fringe stars , not LeBron level.

Raptors main two guards are very consistent .......and come up big at the end of a game . Always .

Lowry is still the locomotive pulling that train.

Have you watched Valenciunas last night? Sully and Amir shut him down. It wasn't until CBS put KO in, he was having a field day after.
