I really think he is a top 2 big man defender on the team along with Amir. He showed in summer league that he has a legit 15 ft jumper, and can finish at the rim.

I like Zeller as a backup C, but he clearly isn't a good low post defender . I think Mickey could play some center for us against most teams .

I see him as a Bass type offensive player , but with better rim protection .

I think/hope he is in the rotation by xmas. He can anchor the defense for the bench, move Amir into the starting lineup

Hope this is the rotation by January
PG: IT               /Rozier
SG: Smart         /AB              / Hunter
SF: Crowder      / Turner
PF: KO            / Lee or Sully
C: Amir          / Sully or Mickey

Lee/Zeller eventually get traded for future assets

It'd be one thing if we just had 4 good bigs, but we have 6 guys ahead of him. Unless there's a rash of injuries, there's no way he's cracking the rotation.

No.  He's not going to get the minutes to attempt to prove it.

I definitely don't think so.

When I hear the comparison to Bass, I assume you mean that he will shoot well and often from midrange and crash hard for offensive rebounds and putbacks. Is that what you mean?

I don't see Mickey getting minutes unless he is given them and plays well.

So the only way Mickey surpasses Lee/Zeller is if those guys get hurt and Mickey kills it while they are gone.

In some skills maybe in a year or two.   By years end , he might give small minutes in a relief situation .   While he looked decent in summer league , the real game shows he is still very green . But way ahead of some NBA rookies drafted in front of him .

IMO Start Amir, with Sully.

Let Sully defend and lean on the opposing teams center... say what you want about him, and I'm as guilty as anyone here, he get's to where he wants to in the paint, he's certainly a load near the basket, he's difficult to move, let him grab rebounds, score some, set picks and do some solid passing.

Let Amir defend the PF's, score when he can, and protect the rim.

Zeller and Lee didn't show any type of defensive presence at all. Keep Zeller as a backup center, that's what he is. Keep Lee with the second unit.

And last of all, give Mickey 10-12 minutes a game, develop this kid, he likes to protect the rim, he's active, long and athletic, he stay's home in the paint. He has an impact when he gets in there. He'll make mistakes, yes, but we're not really a serious contender. By the end of the year, he may pay dividends.

Lee in no way shape or form is a top defender on this team. Amir could be considered.

Lee has lost a step. On the defensive end. A big step

I would say yes just because I don't think all of the bigs we have on the roster will be on the team at the end of the year. Otherwise no.
