Cousins scores, rebounds, passes, hustled and plays very good defense. I don't think anyone outside of Lebron would consistently win with his supporting cast.

I agree and think, while the OP is entitled to their opinion, it's unfair to label DeMarcus as a "Never can win" player when his supporting cast, coaching and ownership have never given him a chance.

Agreed 100%, and was going to post the same thing.

Him not winning is not about him, it's about the dysfunction of the team he's in, and the supporting cast. If you surround a player who averages 24/12/3 with a better team structure and better teammates that fits to his strengths, and the very least, he'll take you to the Playoffs.

Watch him go out of SacTo and become a winner. I mean, how many coaches, GM's and owners he went thru already? Total dysfunction.

And not with Rondo as your guard either......25 minutes ....4 points .......  -8

I know he's still going to make millions, but I am stunned when I think of how much money Rondo has thrown away with his injury/decline/attitude.  Before he got hurt, he was a virtual lock for a max deal.  After the injury, he still probably could have gotten a "hometown bonus" in Boston and signed a $75-80 million dollar deal.  Now he's on a one-year $9.5 million dollar deal, turns 30 before the season is over and might be lucky to get 3 years and $30 million.

And yet the Kings aren't any better with him.  Not really at all.  The 09/10 Kings won 25 games, draft Cousins and then win 24 games.  They then jumped up to the 28 win range where they've been every since, despite adding Gay and having players like Thomas and Collison to run the point throughout that time period.  At some point you have to say it is Cousins.

Yeah, I mean I am not saying people can't change, but this is pretty obvious. He is an all-worldly center with the wrong attitude and until that attitude changes, the Kings are going to continue to suck.

The talent level on that team is pretty decent. If he was truly a superstar, he would be carrying them further than the mid-lottery season after season. At some point, people have to realize that its him that needs to change.

That being said, he is still an incredible talent and of course I would trade for him.

+1

I think you'd need one or two players close to the talent level of Cousins to win a title, but you could absolutely win one if Cousins is your main guy.  You just can't expect him to do everything.

And he's already got one DKC Championship title.  That's something nobody will ever be able to take away from him.

I appreciate the fact that Cousins has never played on a team finishing over .500.  But to take that to the level of saying he cannot win a championship is a real stretch at this point.

Add him to the Celtics current line up, in place of ANY of our current bigs, and this team would suddenly be considered top tier.  One very talented player, combined with our supporting cast and head coach who works miracles...boom, banner 18 seems possible.

Karl is not the coach for him...it's only a matter of time before he figures that out.

Of course he'd know.  The DKC is real.  Demarcus Cousins lives in an alternate universe where he just won a title in Cleveland alongside Lebron James, Dirk Nowitzki, and Andre Iquodala.

He was already on a team with Isaiah Thomas that also had Rudy Gay, Marcus Thornton, Derrick Williams, Ben McLemore, etc.  That team won 28 games.

I didn't realize that anyone considers Thornton, Williams and McLemore anything other than bit NBA players. The extent to which they were featured on those Sacramento teams is a testament to how awful the roster really was.

Not an exactly stellar supporting cast not to mention a terrible coach AND playing in a much more difficult conference.  Heck, 49 wins got you an 8 seed that year.
