david lee shouldn't see the floor, much less be asked to shoot or score. 'so bad I wanted bass back.

and i'm pretty sure i'd much rather have Jahlil Okafor than a 1st round bounce.

he has struggled twice now vs philly's bigs -some teams will give him trouble
nerlens noel gets up quick and nullifies his finess-
ko was missed with his outside shooting,i think he has had good games against philly in past

Yes. And yes.  But I'm giving lee time and okafor hasn't payed against any legit centers in an increasing center less focused nba.  I say give it more than one game

Look, I've said all along I didn't think Lee should start. Obviously, Brad thinks he should and I'm good with that.

I wouldn't worry about one game. The simple fact is that this team has enough effective bigs to sub in for someone who isn't having a good game. Lee and Zeller didn't perform well, so the Cs brought in Sully, Amir and Jerebko who all performed well. That's why this team is projected to have a winning record - the depth is unbelievable.

I'm in favor of leaving Amir to run more with IT on that second unit. Those two look like they were made for each other. If that means Lee starts and Amir finishes, I'm fine with that too.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

Pretty sure Danny wasn't offered a choice like that. Heck, I'd have been thrilled with Tim Duncan instead of a 1st round bounce, or even a Kevin Durant in a pinch. If we'd have lost a few games those years we'd have all but been guaranteed the top pick...

the 76ers are doing what every franchise should theoretically be doing if their team is not a contender. However look at where it has gotten them. 3 years of embarrassing basketball and they are no better off then us. In fact, we are in a much much better place than they are. Yes Noel and Okafor are both better individual prospects than any player we have
.but do they have any hope of attracting free agents? Do they have any kind of semblance of creating a future championship team? imo no. They've gotten unlucky a little bit with Embiid(although it was known he would injury prone) ..Even then..they tanked and tanked and tanked and still they couldn't get the elite pg prospect that they needed.

Obviously if they landed the top pick it would be a different story..but bottoming out and tanking does not always guarantee results.

Another thing is..there is no generational talent coming out which is worth doing what Philly is doing..If we know a Tim Duncan level prospect is coming out..then yes absolutely do what Pilly is doing.

Look at our position...we have Nets unprotected pick...Dallas potential lottery pick...and we are trying to win..tons of cap space in the off season with a winning culture and developing elite complimentary players....this is awesome imo.

Hard to make anything out of game 1, I personally like to get 10 games under my belt before throw in my 2 cents.

Mudiay was still available.  they were going for BPA rather than fit.  looks like they hit a homerun on that and need to thank the Lakers for being fools.

agreed, need a good 10-15 games under the team's belt before throwing Lee under the bus already.

he's going to be like every other player on this roster -- good nights and bad ones.  the one luxury we have is that with a roster so deep, if a guy is having an off night we can substitute someone in who probably isn't having an off night.

David Lee will be averaging 15 ppg before the season ends.

and i'm pretty sure i'd much rather have Jahlil Okafor than a 1st round bounce.
Would you also have a 20-point loss rather than a 20-point win?

Bass can't pass. We had more assisted baskets last night than any other team in the NBA. No matter how stiff Lee looked tonight, Bass doesn't make any sense in our offense.

I sympathize with your second point, though I am starting to come around to the perspective that the malaise of losing 60 games digs deep ruts for all of the players on your team. Maybe that's early-season optimism talking; let's see how it feels in a couple of months.

Wasn't really impressed by either Lee or Zeller. Both are better as the only paint big so that they can roll freely to the hoop.

Personally I'd prefer to start Amir and Sullinger, then come in with Lee and Olynyk in the second unit.

Zeller is supposed to be our only pure center, but what good is a pure center if he gets dominated by guys like Okafor?

As long as we are being negative if the first unit is going to survive in it's current state Smart needs to attack the hoop a lot more than he did yesterday.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I think it's shaping up in what the computers predicted: Olynyk and Johnson will be Stevens' go-to.  May not start the game, but will likely be in there for the crucial possessions.  Even from the naked eye, they complement eachother nicely.

I'm not worried about Zeller in the slightest but I hope Lee gets on track because he's someone where we will know fairly shortly if he has anything left to give in this league.

yes, one game does not a season make. i think cb has a norm of "dont make any judgements until game 20."

we need to invoke that once more.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
