Rondo seems annoyed the lakers didn't offer him a contract... He's having a classic rondo spite game.

Nothing to add on Randle (3 pts, 2 reb, 1-4 FG, 1-4 FT, 5 TO's) and your pre-season whipping boy Cauley-Stein (17 pts, 9 reb, 3 blks, 7-8 FG)? Are you still calling Cauley-Stein "Biyombo 2.0"?
it was randles 2nd game and he had foul trouble that kept him in for only  13 minutes.

Smart still can't shoot.

Wcs is a poor man's biyombo.

2 games.  You expect to know their future in 2 games ?

How many games has Cauley-Stein played? Still with that Biyombo stuff, huh? You should strongly reconsider that. It takes away credibility from your other points.
Biyombo owned us yesterday off the bench.

Yep, all 4 pts he scored were completely devestating.
If I formed my opinion after 1 basketball game, I'd be calling Karl Towns the best player in basketball and lamenting the fact we didn't tank last season.

Stein had a good game against Ryan Kelly.  My opinion may change over the course of the season, but not after 1 game.   Stein in game 1:  2 points, 2 rebounds 0 assists, 0 blocks, 0 steals.  I didn't base my opinion of him on that game either.

But don't you do exactly that? You were calling WCS a bust/poor man's Biyombo before he even played a regular season game. You've annointed Randle as a budding superstar after a few preseason games. You've gone nuts about Embiid and he hasn't even played a game yet.

It's funny how you said WCS performance was against Kelly, but didn't bother saying that it was mostly against Hibbert and he was matched up against Randle a lot.

Nice highlights.  I change my mind.  Boston should have tanked.   Superstars 10 picks deep.  What a shame.

I'd wager that Ainge would take Cauley-Stein every day over Randle. Definitely fills a need.
On this team right now where we have 18 power forwards?   I mean, isnt that what lead us to passing on Randle for an inferior prospect in the first place?

Jk.

I never said WCS was a bust, btw.  When I compare him to Biyombo, it's out of love.   Biyombo does the same things well.

Cauley-Stein's 17 points are more than Biyombo's scored in any of his 286 NBA appearances, FYI.

So, is all your cheerleading for Biyombo also meant sarcastically?

In fairness, Biyombo's never had a point guard throwing lobs to him like Rondo.

Maybe that can be Rondo's role for the next 5-10 years -- pumping up young pogo stick big men on crappy teams.  The Sixers could use a guy in that role.

The Wolves have been stuck in mediocrity for a while, but it looks like they're on track for a quick "rebuild" after losing their star player (Love). They've drafted/traded for great young athletes while still keeping enough decent veterans around to hold them accountable for their habits on and off court. Beating the Nuggets and the Lakers isn't exactly a monumental feat, but I do think this season will be good for them developmentally: teaching the young guys how to win (rather than teaching how to lose/having zero accountability and mentorship, a la Philly). Flip set them up quite well. Really sad that he won't be around to see how the team turns out.

The wolves will definitely be a fun team to watch this year.  Towns was supposedly some freakish phenom heading into the draft and so far, he looks the part.   There are tons of young talented players on there... and in the first two games, KG was his normal maniac self screaming at/encouraging the young guys.

We need to trade for Rondo ASAP! Smart, Sully, Amir and the Nets ´16 pick. We have no assets, Rondo would be a major asset.

Cousins is such a lousy post defender. He's letting guards blow by him in the post.

Celtics fans should be rooting for them every step of the way this year.  We have their pick, top 12 protected - if it falls in that range, it turns into two 2nds.  Big longshot that we get that first, but nobody expected us to sneak into the playoffs last year either.

Taking too many outside shots.

Finished with 21-8-5. Kings almost stole this one without Cousins. Rondo and Collison almost willed it in the 4th qtr. Fun game.
